Hey y'allll.
Struggling a little with finding a career path at the moment rejection is becoming a little boring.
Recently applied for an apprenticeship at the Atomic Weapons Establishment but that did not go for me so at another path that forks now...
www.computrain-uk.com
I have been looking at this sort of thing for a while now, gain an MCSE qualification whilst in work and ba placed in an IT job afterwards, too good to be true obviously so it costs 2.5k but if they cannot find a placement they will refund that money.
I already have a 2 A levels in Computing so it shouldn't be too much of a difficult leap...
How much are these qualifications worth in real world?
Also, always being a big option for me is armed forces career...
More specifically the Royal Air Force but being a bit gay would rather stay in my hometown due to gf and parents, comfort sort of thing.
Has anyone had any experiences with computrain or similar computer training companies?
Thanks for any replies and LeeR if you could sling me ya number again it would be nice to talk to you about it you old sex pest.

Hi,
The placement can be anywhere for any wage so are often such you dont want to accept them and then can't claim the money back.
For some jobs they are worth having but look around at the number of jobs in your area and what they are paying.
It is also possible to self study for these exams which may work out cheaper.
If you dont know what to do I would look at jobs that mean you do something that can't be outsourced. Electrican, plumber and so on qualified they can earn very good money and you can earn on the job.
Regards

Hi,
if you are desperate for ideas on what you might be good out you try Strengths Finder or one of the equivalents.
I would not say they are the be all and end all but they can give you some new ideas.

The exams are ~£88 + VAT to sit. You need 7 for an MCSE, 3? MCSA and 1 to be an MCP. If you really want to to do them get Testout via torrent to practice. If you can get 60% in a testout exam you will pass. Testout also offer a "guaranteed" pass if you can get 95% in the mock exams, which you probably won't.
Having an MCSE will make dick all difference in getting most jobs, will help little in the job itself and cost you the best part of £600.
The companies you mention are all sharks, just do a search. Find something other than IT while you're at it |
