Exactly the same answer as any time anyone asks about insurance companies. Phone around as many different companies as possible and then play the cheapest few off against each other. |

Best thing to do is just use a comparison site like this:
https://www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk/
And in my experience if you only have a chain to secure it, its not even worth mentioning, as the quote either goes up or doesnt change.
And if you mention it and the bike gets stolen with the chain not attatched, they can refuse to pay out. ____________________ CG 125 > Bandit 600 > CBR 600 FY > Street Triple R |

Im with mce, cheapest offer by far.
Was paying 460 TPFT with A-Quote, then moved to a rougher part of london on paper and they said they wouldent even insure me without a garage. And then came back with a quote of 800 something... At this point i had 4 Years NCB age 24.
mce quote was 220 TPFT with all driving convictions declared.
I have heard as far as aftersales and claiming they are terrible, so i dread ever making a claim with them.
Once i get to 5 years NCB im going fully comp with protected NCB from whoever gives me the best deal. ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

As a rule of thumb H&R are the cheapest for young riders on larger cc bikes.
IIRC, they specifically target this [my] sector of the insurance market. Out of the last 4 years, I've used them for 3 years... ____________________ My Bikes: Piaggio NRG| Aprilia RS 125| Suzuki GSX-R 600|Yamaha Fazer Ducati 848

Try dial direct, I am 20 and my insurance (be it on my 250) is only £100 for the year. I have got 4 years NCB but they seemed pretty cheap for me and brother. ____________________ Past: Honda x8rs, Honda City fly, Honda Hornet 250, Honda VFR750, Yamaha xt600e.

what about getting a cheap bike insuring that, and then adding the other bike to your policy,
i did that with a gs500, then bought a zxr750
the gs insurance was 150 quid a year and 30 quid to add the zxr
the zxr by itself from the same insurance company was 350 ____________________ the humans are dead
