Posted: 13:44 - 24 Mar 2010 Post subject: Crashed my CBR 125. YZF Next! Yellow flames?? |
 |
|
Some of you may have seen from previous posts, but I've had my brand new CBR 125 for around 16 months and it's finally totalled when another guy hit me. So that's.. 5 fall offs and 3 crashes. Awesome!
So now the insurance are paying out £2200 for the bike alone, that's without the thousands I should get for my damaged leg. So I'm going to get myself a Yamaha YZF R125 on finance new. I know if I get anything bigger I'll just kill myself.
My question is, you guys may have seen the R6 with cadmium flames. They look extremely sexy in my opinion.

Now you can get a yellow YZF, but would there be any way to get the same flames from that R6 onto the YZF? If so, what would the damage be? |

Yamaha YZF R125 is just way too exspensive for what it is, why not another CBR? ____________________ on the look out for my next bike....

i think you just proved it yourself...
Mito looks way better than the hump backed skinny out of proportion excuse for an R series. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. I guess I just prefer the sharper edges, really don't like round curves on a bike. Gotta be nice and sharp rounded edges
I'ma gonna contact them about R6 decals. Hopefully it wont cost more than a few hundred to get it put on. |

The Mito looks much better than the R125. In the exact same way that the 916/998 looks much better than the R1:
https://www.tradebit.com/usr/gearheadred/pub/9002/DUCATI998.jpg
https://www.tradebikesuk.co.uk/content/images/Picture%20064.jpg
(That's the best looking R1 too)
Or in the same way that an 848 looks much better than the current R6.
And the R125 has a very weird hump back as though one bike's been dumped inside the front end of another bike but doesn't sit properly. It doesn't do justice to the YZF series at all. ____________________ Current: Ducati Panigale R / Ducati Streetfighter S / Suzuki GSX-R1000 L5 |

Going into tram tracks?
I'd say that's common sense.
Like it's common sense not to waste stupid amounts of money on a brand new 125 that you will only ruin and lose a lot of money on.
Pass your test, get a big cheap bike. You'd be surprised at the reliability of some bikes.
If you're gonna kill yourself on a big bike you probably will on a smaller bike. ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

I'd agree with the above the R125 is way to much money for what it is, I'd suggest doing your test and getting a bigger bike, not a mental sports bike, maybe something fairly cheap like a CB500, ER-5, GS500E, they're all commuter type bikes, designed to do 6,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles before they need any major servicing
They're something like 50-55bhp and should cope well with being restricted back to 33bhp (unless you're over 21) so not absolutely batshit crazy quick. They return decent mpg, spares are all over the place and don't sound wank like the R125 does ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1
