So I just picked my bike up from the dyno. " Take it for a test ride" he said. So off I go... I'd just turned round to head back and I hit some mud on a right bend. Back end wobbled until I flew through the screen and into a ditch.

Layed there for a few seconds telling myself not to panic and to stay still. Moved my legs slightly; all good. Then my hands. People started asking if I was ok and I managed to sit up.

Turned to look at my bike which was wedged front wheel first into a pile of earth. That's when I cried!

Thank God I'm fine. A few aches and a very sore head. Bike was ok too. Just a snapped gear lever, smashed screen and indicator... oh and his "ear" fell off.

All in all I am extremely lucky and want to thank Martin for looking after me.

No karma rape from me, just a reminder that everyone who's met you online or otherwise thinks you're a bellend.

Hope you're ok and more importantly the bike is too! Wink

I fall off the bike off-road on a fairly regular basis. Normally more of a step off, so no damage or surprise, but have had a couple of surprise higher speed ones and they hurt! Ditches are good, as softer than tarmac/cars!!

I'm a 'jump up straight away and check the bike' sort too, but on one occasion I had to sit straight back down, as I went all dizzy! Elbow hurt like crazy, but just bruised, so I was able to ride for the remaining 8 hours of the day Rolling Eyes (it was my birthday too Crying or Very sad ).

Whatever you do get back on immediately and without delay - nerves will get the better of you otherwise and you'll build it all up in your head. Riding nervously is always bad - cautious ok, but scared is not good!!

If they'd done a bloody good job you certainly wouldnt be getting a flat spot that large Confused If at all, really.

What was reason for dyno? New exhaust system?

Thumbs Down This post is Abusive:
Use this reason when a poster uses extremely bad / racist language in an attack on another user, or gets way too personal in an argument.

C'mmon people, yes 'haha' maybe a flame, but isn't exactly 'Abusive' Rolling Eyes.
And, more to the point - this is exactly the sort of reaction I'd expect to see on here if a young bloke made a post like that - I don't think it's really 'right', but that's the way it often seems to be.

For the original poster - unfortunately I have found that crashing in one situation can affect lots of others - for instance flipping a wheelie saw me unconfident around corners after that.

However, try and use this as a positive experience - you know why you crashed, so you can better avoid it in future. Try and work on your 'reading the road' and you should be able to take appropriate action next time, in plenty of time Smile.

This is BCF, if there's a bandwagon expect everyone to jump on it.

It went into the dyno for the flat spot! Turns out it was just some nackered seals in the carbs. He was running lovely after they sorted it! Now they need to fix my broken gear lever... lol
