Did the person that pointed it out to you know what they where talking about? Have you done massive milage on your bike? I would expect a B1H shock to be 'shagged' unless it had alot of miles on it.
As for replacements, you could get a second hand ones on ebay for £50 ish, Hagon do replacments for £300, there are other makes too for around this price maybe more expensive like, Biturbo, Maxton, Hyperpro, White power, you you could push the boat out and get an Ohlins but there are £500-700. I imagine a standard shock new from a dealers would be about £400. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.
Skudd:- Perhaps she just thinks you are a window licker and is being nice just in case she becomes another Jill Dando.
WANTED:- Fujinon (Fuji) M42 (Screw on) lenses, let me know if you have anything. |

Does it feel knackered?
If you're replacing it, there's no point in putting another OE one in since they are pretty pants, and one of the reasons why the bike is so unstable.
Try and get hold of a decent aftermarket one if you can, or a ZX10R shock and links for a huge improvement in the bike's handling. Thinking about it a C model shock may fit too.
Could also be that the linkage just needs a grease. ____________________ My Flickr |

If your bike doesn't have a hugger, then I wouldn't be surprised if the shock got covered in crud. Just because it looks "minging" doesn't mean it's buggered. How it feels to ride should tell you alot more than looking at it. Why not clean it up? So long as there's no oil leaking out of it, can' see why it would be knackered. ____________________

They are easy to change, one bolt at the top and one at the bottom. I fitted an 07 shock to mine though it needed a 10R linkage too. It did make a big difference to the handling, liiked nicer too with the silver spring. ____________________ the undemocratically unelected mod of the Scottish section |
