 |
|
The RXS has already been flipped and crashed by my friend who didnt know about yamaha's secret turbo in the RXS
But about 3 days ago, Riding around in the rain and a taxi driver slams his brakes on for an oncoming firetruck for NO F***ING (New mondeo) so I grab a fistful of brakes, at first they dont work too good (We ARE talkin about an RXS) and then I lost all traction and hit the back of the taxi at about 25mph. I went over the bars, But landed on my feet, hands still on the handlebars with a dislocated shoulder, and kept the bike up. Taxi driver sorted my shoulder out.
Turns out I'd hit some oil leaking from a leaky zafira parked nearby... Damage consists of.... A broken license plate... His... And thats it! HAHA! Wheel is true and runs fine still! £165 well spent!!! I love my RXS!!! Hehe! ____________________ Riding: Yamaha RXS100

Sorry but that is crap, no way you hit a car at 25 and the bike and the car are bearly damaged. Speaking as someone who has actually hit something at 25ish mph, it will do alot more damage. I bent my TDM's wheel and the forks when I hit a speed Camera, an RXS with much thinner forks and wire wheels would not come of better, I would have expected the rear of the car to be totaled too. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. Front end of my YZF after a 30mph shunt:

Either your RXS is built of adamantium, or it wasn't 25mph.
Good job on the bike surviving though! . ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

You're telling me! XD I'm surprised the rusted spokes arent bent or anything. Whatever speed I was doing, I flew over the bars... But that could be anything over 10mph lol...
It's definately inspired me to buy some new brake shoes... there doesnt seem to be much meat on them if I'm honest...
Upon closer inspection, There is some damage... It's damaged my fork seal!!!! so now, both are leaking and need to be done... A job I've never attempted and is apparently very fiddly! ____________________ Riding: Yamaha RXS100

You lucky bugger Had a close call yesterday on the way out of the ace cafe meet. Was in an endless traffic jam and got distracted by a bunch of vintage Yamahas; nearly hit the back of a really expensive looking Harley Don't think he was looking in his mirrors at the time though...wasn't doing more than about 10mph, so it wouldn't have been too bad anyway. ____________________ Riding: BMW R1150RT `02 bought mildly crashed

You went over the handlebars, then landed on your feet still holing the bike? I would've liked to see that! ____________________ My Project - Honda CBR 600 F2/FM |

In 1996 I had a front tyre blow out at about 45. Went over the bars, bike hit a road sign (bent it) and then got swiped by a Maestro coming the other, flipping it over two or three times.
Total damage - twisted forks (loosened clamps, straightened, no problem), slightly bent brake lever, slightly bent footrest, few minor scratches.
Previous owned crunched the bike at over 40 into the back of a YB100. Back end of YB destroyed, RXS just had slightly bent front mudguard and a few deep scratches.
They are indestructible ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |

the idea is that you shouldnt need to slam on your brakes as you see the danger well in advance |

RXS brakes are perfectly adequate in my experience. I've not yet failed to stop. I've come close once or twice though ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |

I think he's bragging more that the RXS survived and has next to no damage, and that he survived.
It's the state of mind i'd prefer to be in after a spill |
