I'm not voting.

Not really spoiling your vote and none of the above due to our twisted archaic voting system is actually a vote for the incumbents i.e. labour.
No matter how small the majority or even if more people vote for the opposite side like in the 2005 election they will claim a mandate. It is like Mao Zhedong claiming devine mandate under the force of guns tbh.
The markets have reacted badly to labour getting into power again due to ZIRP and QE currency trashing, when the polls narrowed the markets priced the £1 @ $1.47 when there was news of a hung parliment.
Remember the Pimco bond strike has already happened and the government is using printed money zimbabwe style to pay the day to day bills via an accounting trick
Although part of me wants to see labour win, so the scortched earth policy they have been running will blow up in their own faces, though this is unfair on everybody else. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Does turning up, going into the voting booth, squeezing shit out of my arse, smearing it around the booth and using the ballot paper to wipe with count as voting?
If not, then I am not voting this year.

Being in Scotland gives a unique opportunity to take a poke at all the main parties, probably similar in Wales too.
I'm not overly keen on independance, I think the SNP are a shower of nannying newspaper headline chasing knee jerk politicians for the most part, but in voting for them in the UK election it sends a pretty clear message about how the UK parliament is regarded.
So thats what I'll be doing. Imagine if the SNP take a good majority of Scottish UK parliament seats and GB/Labour manage to cling on to power. His position and that of all the other Scottish MP's with cabinet positions will become decidedly awkward, it'll great fun to watch too.

Was this not how how the Germans used to work things pre-WW2? (Proportional representation), because thinking back to my Modern World History GCSE lessons (well, it was better than Spanish at least ), i was told (which is partly why i'm bringing it up because history isn't always taught accurately), that because of this system the country ended up in a mess due to many small parties and no one really in charge (as an inevitable result of proportional representation) and so the country was getting itself in a big mess because there was no parliamentary cohension because everyone was trying to get one over each other instead of banding together and forming alliances to do the "right" thing (seems to be that way even now, but at least someone can force their decisions through - shame it's currently labour - due to the system forcing just a few main parties into parliamentary seats), so the man that was more extreme and promised to solve everything managed to get into power through the people's desperation - Hitler, and then the problems really began.
Therefore isn't proportional representation a bad idea despite seeming good on the surface? (or was i lied to?)
I think it's better to vote for a party you like than not vote at all (even if they won't get in) as the main parties are made aware that a vote has been cast in your area, for a party that isn't them. If enough people do that, they may even come round your area to ask what's up. If you don't vote, they take it as voter apathy, which is the furtherest thing from the truth. Defecating on the ballot papers seems more like repulsion/aversion for democracy itself, rather than a message to those in power that you don't want them in power. I'd take a stab of a guess that most intelligent people are aware democracy is a crap political system; it's just that it's the least crap political system out there (to my knowledge at least).
The least anti-biking party sounds like a good one, who's that then ____________________ -- Ingah |

No the point of proportional representation IS minority government, with minority government the government is effectively crippled and unable to do anything.
And therefore unable to bring in stupid new laws and ill thought out suggestions like SORN and having microchips put in people from birth or having your DNA taken at birth (I can't remember if labour got that policy through were they took all babies DNA).
The markets don't like it though which is why the £ is going into freefall. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die.
