. hi all, i have a kwak gpz 500s ex a model .now a few months a go down the bottom half the engine up, got a new battery no probs started up went well , so turn the engine off to take her for a run so turn her off to dress up went to start her an click click bloody hell now what went through my mine .so check all the charging with meter ok batt reading 12.3 volt so put the batt on my car charger for 5 mins tryed her again started no probs. stop the engine tried again click click change the solanoid an the regulator just in case still the bloody same. so can some please please help me out . cheers paul[/b] |

Check it, take the battery off and charge it fully. Leave it for 24 hours and check the voltage.
Should be 12.7 or 12.8
Anything less is
HTH
or just change the battery for the sake of £30 |

From what I can decipher from that gobbldegook, your GPZ wont start and is clicking when you try to do so?
Find the starter solenoid (follow the big fat wire from the battery positive, the solenoid is on the other end of it, under one of the side panels). On the side of the solenoid is a connector block holding the main, 30A fuse. Pull this off and check the condition of the terminals and wires leading into it. Especially the fat white wire attaching to the main fuse.
This wire is really prone to corrosion where it attaches to the fuse. If the terminal is all green and shitty and the fuse terminal looks like it's been nibbled away, suspect this as your problem. That wire carries all the power to both the bike and the battery.
