This might be a bit of a noob question but one I havent had before.

If someone contacts me to arrange a viewing on my motorbike should I go ahead with it? I'm not sure what goes on with selling bikes through ebay.

Cheers,

Chris

Obviously they might want to come and see it...
I used to ride my bike to a very busy area, such as town giving them the reason "making it easier for them to get to."

Then they arent aware of your actual house and cant arrange to go robbing Wink

You should probably make it clear if you are not willing to sell outside ebay - though I would always ask in the email beforehand if I was going to view and it was an issue for me.

It's perfectly reasonable to - so they can do a HPI style check on it.
Frankly, even if it was someone cloning it (unlikely, I'd say), it's not your problem if you sell it! Smile

Don't let them test ride without giving you the full asking price in cash as a deposit!

And for the love of god record their details. Recently been reading posts about a guy who let someone test ride his bike and a 140mph in a 40 zone (done by the guy that test rode his bike) thing is going to wreck his life.

Im not a fan of giving over whole purchase price when buying personally,
the 636 i was on my own and if i handed over all that money then found out on the testride it was a nail, then itd be hard to get that money back off the bloke...

There's an easy way out of that one - go buy a different bike.

I have allowed test rides on bikes before but only low-value ones. I wouldn't let anyone test-ride a bike npwadays especially one that was worth anything for many reasons - in case they steal it, smash it (possibly maiming someone else), blow it up or set off speed cameras. You'd find it very difficult to get any money out of someone who decided they weren't going to pay.

If they really must, they could ride pillion for all the good it would do.

Not an issue for just 'viewing'. They can view the bike and when they decide to buy it they can come round to your house to pick it up.
