Thinking of selling my little CB-1.
H reg with 76K on the clocks. I dont know exactly when it was converted to miles so I have no clue how many of those are kilometres.
Got a different frond end, one with twin discs (I think from a CB400F), and it's got twin headlights.
Got the washers and cert. for 33bhp, although there not fitted.
Seven Eighth' straight bars.
Recent chain and sprockets (less than 500 miles).
Nearly new rear Pilot Power 2CT, covered less than 500 miles also.
Bike's in average condition for it's age, odd marks here and there and a couple of scuffs on the bar ends and what not.
Bike's been sat for about a year now, although I've run it regularly throughout that period to make sure it was running OK. Engine wise it's absolutely perfect, runs absolutely fine with no knocks and rattles. It will need a new battery as the one that's on it wont hold a charge for long now. It also needs a new front tyre and the fork seals doing. I'll post some pics up shortly when I can get them off my phone.
So, any ideas roughly what I could ask for it? I've looked on eBay and only seem to be able to find spares for them.
Cheers,  |

Im on the lookout for CB-1 / CB400 (superfour) at the moment and would say with the high miles and need for new tyre and fork seals it would be worth around £500.
Autotrader has CB1s going for £1500 but all seem to be owned by dealers but on ebay there has been 2-3 of them popping up each week (although none in the last week).
Where abouts are you? I could be interested  ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

Hubby's is not the Japanese version. Crappy mild steel exhaust, ugly pillion footpeg hangers and plain side covers.

Given that replacement exhausts are a nightmare to find, the stainless one is worth more imo. He bought this one for £500 in November, though it doesn't have half the mileage yours has and had a year's MOT. That is unusual imo for one in good condition. |

Sorry to drag this up again, .
But if for argument sake I do the fork seals, new tyre, tax and MOT it (which I will), what would be a reasonable asking price? I very nearly sold it as it was for £300 a week ago, but after looking on biketrader they seem to be fetching a lot more, albeit with tax/MOT and not quite as many miles. Does the fact it has a different front end and headlights add or detract from the value?
Cheers for any input,

Worth a try on autotrader but seems to be very overpriced when you compare it to what can be had on ebay.
Any bike IMO is worth having tax and MOT before selling as without for me normally means theres a good reason why the seller has not got one even though they think it will 'fly though'
Not sure on the value as most dont have as many miles but in good condition maybe £600 (at a guess) ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |
