Alright guys.

Have ridden the International twice, and love it. But theres two trackdays available in April (18th and 19th) 18th International.

The national layout is a tenner less at 119 quid, rather than 129.

Whoevers ridden both - what you think? Should I save a tenner? Or am I not missing out on much?

Thumbs Up

EDIT: Booked the national for various reasons.

Anyone going? Probs not, but supposed to be good weather.

Cant bloody wait! Mr. Green

I've ridden both, the National is slower but I found it more enjoyable. You still get the mega triple left hander. And instead of turning left onto the banked section you go strait on, right, wiggle/chicane then turn right to near where you come off the bank. Thumbs Up

Gutted, I wanted to do this - but booking an MOT in for my car, and preparing the bike was an issue I needed time for Crying or Very sad

Rock is not one of my favourite tracks though, but as I'm on a new (old) bike I've not even ridden on the road I'll be taking it a little careful anyway, so booked into inters. Just hope the old girl lasts the day! Laughing

Thumbs Up

just be careful on the final corner and take a slightly wider apex as i found out to my discomfort and 5 days in hospital !

I found its a weird track you can't really get up to speed before your turning again and some of the corners you have to really back off for otherwise its a trip through the gravel.

enjoy and take it easy

5 days in hospital nasty! must have fallen awkwardly as the last corner is pretty slow.

I managed to crash on the first of the left handers, missed my braking marker and ended up over shooting the corner on to the grass which was soaking wet. Managed to get down to an almost walking pace without braking but then needed to turn so hit the deck in a muddy heap Embarassed doh!

I really like the national track, never done the International but it wouldn't really suit a 400, the national is perfect for slower bikes, mainly just 2nd and 3rd gear all the way round.
If its wet or even slightly damp Rockingham is REALLY slippery though Laughing

overtook a couple of bikes just before the corner so was slightly to the right going in and scraping my peg and knee. made it round the apex then back lost traction and i high sided Sad

broken pelvis and shoulder so was out of action for a while.

Laughing Looks like I did didn't I!

Still, it turned out it was just a piece of plastic about 5cm long that decided to disintergrate that caused the problem. Still only missed the last two sessions of the day, by that time I was feeling a little tired anyway, combination of first TD of the year and the lovely warm weather! Thumbs Up

Awww SHUCKS!

Nice pics, who took them? Do they have a pro on-site or was it a a friend with a good camera/eye??

I'm only just prizing myself away form my bike on corners, but I'm starting to feel it a bit now (I can feel how it speeds a change up).

Damn years of event riding - all about CPB, no good for bikes.... but I'll get there.

I got the proper pictures - I'll have to stop buying them cos they expensive. But you cant get shots like that without being on the track. Thumbs Down

Once you're comfortable hanging off the bike like a monkey (forget corner speed and angles etc...just so youre comfy) and you've got to the point where a knee down is natural on both sides - you can really start to improve corner speed because youre confident how far you can take the bike without touching the very edge of the tyre. Thumbs Up

What sort of price? Does he snap everyone and you can opt to buy or do your pre-book?

I'd not get photos, not of my first one, the zimmer frame might show up (and the rabbit in headlights look).

I've been managing to get my bike fairly down without moving much at all. In fact I was convinced it was all for show - esp the knee down bit ... Ive seen plenty of pillocks not movng much at all, but just sticking their knee out LOL

I just felt it on Sunday, it just happened and it felt nartural - bet if it was on video people would say 'you whaaa?'

It was 30 quid for a CD with about 45 pictures on. For comparison, if you wanted one 10xwhatever print, it was 15 quid.

Its a bit extortionate but I had the cash. PLus pics are memories incarnate.

They take thousands of everyone on the day - you then go talk to them and tell them what bike, something distinctive, and usually theyve already sorted it into folders etc.

Thumbs Up

As for the knee downs etc - certainly not for show Laughing When I was on some really fast laps, everything felt on the edge, if I made a mistake I'd be in hospital. I know for a fact if Id not been hanging off, I would have been unsafe at the same speeds, or slower than I was going - neither of which was preferable (to me).

Its possible you dont have to hang off quite as much as I do, and thats your own style - but seriously, going fast around a corner whilst sat almost entirely on the bike can become very unsafe, very quickly.

Imagine the forces involved when a bike corners - it's all about keeping the bike steady and balanced whilst leant over like that.
