Already called up a motorcycle tyre place and it can be plugged for £12.50 but now gotta take the back wheel off and hassle and grrrr.

So err...share your puncture, unexpected finds experiences.

Buy a tyre repair kit for £10 instead that will have 9 more repair silly strings? you don't even need to take the wheel off to use em.

Thats a pisser mate. Had that happen to me loads of times, once in a rear tyre that was a day old and had to replace it, one week later another freakin screw!!!

Who cares how much it is as long as its cheaper than a new tyre.

Place near me (Plymouth) repaired my rear for £20 which included taking the tyre off. They used one of those cone shaped plugs and the repair was brilliant. Not many places like to repair them though.

Shortly after I bought my bike I found that I have screw in the tire.
I caught it somewhere near work.
The tire was nearly new and I was very angry.

I got a quote from the workshop £25 for repair.

My friend advised me to get TireWeld.
He's got a Ninja 900 and he used it once and was riding for about 4 months on it with high speeds as well.

After some time it gets harder than the tire and then you need a new tire.
Also after this treatment you can't repair or plugged or whatever.
You have to change the tire. But TireWeld is ok and should be fine for some time. (I was told that by the workshop).

It is temporary thing but can sort you out for few months.
If youre tire was not new it should be enough.
But if you want to keep the tire for longer than few months then try to repair it properly.

I got it for £12 and I didn't have to take the tire off neither the wheel out.
It is always some risk but so far (about 2 months) it is ok on my bike.
In some time I will change the tires anyway.

Cheers for the advice. Think ill just get it done properly. The wheel needs to come off anyway for a proper spring clean so its a good excuse to get that done.

No point bodging it, as you can see from the picture there is loads of tread and the tyre is only a few months old.

Although might be worth investing in some of that slime stuff that is supposed to prevent this. Is it any good?

Think I paid about 15-20 for a local mobile mechanic to come out and repair a damaged rear tyre on the GPZ.
He came out and did the whole thing on-site in my own garage, using tools and kit from a Snap-On tools type van

You can use a screw as an emergency repair if you can find the hole.
They can stop in place for many miles.

After me replacing my tyre the other week after skidding to avoid a crash, almost a week later, I have a metal nail in mine.

How dangerous is that whilst travelling at say 70mph ? Does it pose a risk of blowing the tyre out?
