Well that sucks.
I've always wondered in these events... what actually happens with the bikes? As in who pays for them? Obviously if you crash and damage only your bike you pay for that... but if you make someone else crash through your crashing and damage theirs.... what is the etiquette?

Fair
Thought it'd be something like that.
Just not sure if most people would take the "it's a trackday mate, ya know, shit happens" type attitude.
Wouldn't want it done to me so won't do it to others ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

How crap is that, that the fuel tank and or a vital engine component didn't survive the impact or sliding against the floor and let fuel leak out and burn like that. Not that I know how fast it was going or anything.
Very unlucky I suppose ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston? |

Ouch! In about the 11th pic it looks like the guy in blue leathers twists his back pretty badly. ____________________ 2016 CBF1000F - Commuter heaven | 1994 CBR600FR - Awaiting defibrillation |

I once took someone out (while racing) by landing a stoppy crossed up - I braked a bit too hard while still in the corner and rather than sliding it gripped, as I put it down the rear was at rather the wrong angle.
I didn't feel quite so bad as apparently earlier that weekend the same rider had caused Jon to crash; and at a previous weekend Jon had caused me to crash .
There's nothing that says you have to compensate anyone for damage you do at a trackday, but it's nice if you do when it's obviously your 'fault'. |

Well I'll be damned, I was at that track day last year, it was my first trackday in May last year and remember that crash cos they left a massive oil spill straight across that chicane I was bricking it every time I approached and crossed it.
Both chaps were fine and the Kawasaki carried on in the later sessions I believe. There were no fisty cuffs as both were on the ground a little stunned to what just happened.
Cool GIF though. ____________________ My current bikes are - YZF-R1 & GS 500 E

It is good if the bloke that caused it was kind enough to cough up
I wouldn't have and I wouldn't EXPECT someone else to either!!
If it was a blatant f-up by me, I WOULD go and apologise and check they were ok though!
If it was the same bike as mine and I had the spares in my van to get them back out on track, I'd do what I can as a gesture. However, that is as far as it would go and that is only if it was blatantly 100% my feck up (and that is only if they didn't get 'in my face' about the incident ... if they did that - they would get NOTHING from me ... not even a (sincere) apology!). ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |

Nice pics, but check out the first couple of shots.
That looks like a real Yamaha R7. (Akra race can, ohlins forks give it away rather than just a track R1 with fairings sprayed in the R7 scheme.)
Sub zero cool. ____________________ My Flickr |
