My cub is due an MOT. Saw a little spot of rust coming up by the mudguard, so I poked it.

Whoops.

Double whoops.

So I hacked about 4" off of the rear mudguard that I ground off, and re profiled it to match again, obviously I had to ditch the bracket that holds the rear light on, but IMO it looks better now than it did before.

I'll get a before and after side on shot so you can see the difference.

It's now welded, then fibreglassed over the top, and then waxoiled over the top of everything. Good and strong and won't rust now!

Thumbs Up

Nice.

Also, what engine are you running in that? Isn't it a Lifan? Been reliable?

Yeah it's a 107cc Lifan 4 speed semi auto. Been brilliant. Coming up 3k now and burnt no oil, i've just changed it regularly and done the clearances once or twice.

Gearbox is sweeter than any genuine 90 i've ridden. Does about 55 on a flat and cruises at 45 to 50 comfortably, and is returning 120mpg.

I've thrashed the tits off it, but always warmed it up and serviced it. Truth be told I bloody love the thing! Embarassed
