Check out this video,
sadly i dont read the language but flick through and you'll see he puts another exhaust on there.
Just curious, what with it being a fairly highly tuned 2t, what effects would this have on the running of the bike?
Daddy has a welder and i'd love another exhaust on the other side haha!

It would reduce back pressure without increasing noise levels. It would provide very very minimal power increase and is mostly aimed at making the engine size appear bigger. So it will actually just be slower compared to peoples expectations |

ahh crud,
no fun haha,
I just have this strange feeling that my NSR dosnt feel like a real bike as it only have one pipe (i'm fully aware that dosnt make any sense what so ever!).
Would make an interesting project though

Hi,
im thinking, that where the 2nd pipe has been welded on, is at the end of the stinger, past any point where it would have any noticeable effect on the back pressure?
that would be my understanding of it. (likely to be wrong though, lol)
looks like the've trried to copy the likes of jim lomas exhausts, like those for the aprilia.
except the silencers are hideously ugly,
2 arrow cans would look so much better, imo,
cheers,

Well there are 2 kinds of back pressure at work. First is the back pressure caused by the back of the expansion chamber, this causes the pulse of back pressure. The is also overall back pressure which is the ability of the exhaust gases to get out of the exhaust system, e.g. shoving a potato in the end of the pipe increases this as there is no gas flow. The second end can would reduce this pressure in the same way that a sports exhaust does. Sports exhausts have less back pressure as they have less baffling and as a result are louder. Adding a second road legal can will reduce back pressure giving better performance whilst staying legal noise wise.
I'd still rather have a race can though |

hmmm.
might have to have a think about putting a pipe on the other side then if its not going to cause any major issues
If i just re-rout one from the same place but under and out the other side, attaching it to the foot peg same as the origional side, anyone seeing it cause any major issues?
The bike is due an overhaul as i'v sorted it mechanically and major things just niggly bits like grips, talk lock, squeeky back break, a little rust under the tank... a fair list actually but just little niggles.
Want to get the bike done in all white with black *stickery things* and get all the niggles sorted out, plan to keep it for a while

If you are going to do it, at least get them parallel, not like the ones on that video! |
