Building a website?

Right, I did do a search but didnt really get much out of it.

I have bought the domain name and know that i will need to get the webspace. Will get that once I how large the site is.

Now i need to build the site before uploading it. Does anyone have, or could point me in the direction of, some website building program for a guy how can build bikes but still types with only two fingers?

Yes it's true that you only need a very very simple text editor to build a site, but for a beginner i wouldn't recommend it.

Find yourself a copy of Dreamweaver then go hunting for a site template.

When you find one you like save it, open it up in Dreamweaver, add in your text and graphics, change a few fonts and colours around and you're done.

Urgh! Don't put the cheesey under construction thing up. People won't visit unless theres content to see. If they do visit and see 'under construction' they won't come back.

Dreamweaver is highly ambitious if you haven't made webpages already to have a bit of background knowledge of html and ftp etc.

You won't need Dreamweaver unless using CSS (what's that, he asked) or working on a template which employs CSS.
Depends what you want to do really, if you are wanting an image based site you can use something like JAlbum and modify the index and slide pages it produces with basic stuff like notepad or MSfrontpage (part of MSoffice, makes sound basic webpages, or openoffice.org has a good html/webpage editor)

Don't rule out the simplest of all, a free blog from the likes of blogger.com.
By tweaking the template you can have something much more like a 'website' than a daily journal, they can look very good and if you re-direct your domain name to the blog it gives a good impression.
