come and ride in London, its the model of equality, everyone tries to kill you regardless of vehicle and no one pays you any attention! ____________________ Pitslayer wrote "it could be Ndubz.....ruining this once great place with donkey gobbling loafer knobbing "music".

I ride usually between 75-85mph...and often find that van drivers in particular, will decide to overtake, then they cut in too soon, then often start braking. It just doesn't make sense! I wonder do they see red mist (possibly after being trounced by every other biker on the road) and just have to be in front of me no matter what, and then just cannot maintain the speed?
I just re-overtake and shake my head, think 'w@nker'... and open it up a bit, to put a bit of distance between us.
It's bizarre behaviour though. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

I don't really have any more nonsense from car drivers when I'm on the 100 than when I'm on the Bandido, the Gyp or any other large motorcycle. Completely different story with people on bikes - who mostly sail by looking all superior on their power rangermobiles and feel the need to overtake even when it's dangerous to do so

I've been conducting an experiment this week, giving the friendly nod/wink at both bikes and scooters (or rather their riders), and the scooters uniformly didn't nod back. Sure they were probably looking out for cyclists, cars, pedestrians, bikes, vans, lorries, and the occaisional flaws in Sheffield's silky smooth stretches of tarmac.
I was hoping for some form of detente, but it may well be an bridgable chasm. |

I do get more nods on 'proper' bikes, but it often feels the way bikes are treated is half the way the riders expect to be treated.
As for cars, I don't think I find a massive difference be it on a 125 or a 1000cc bike. For bikes, well I ride for the sake of riding, not in the hope some random strangers nod to me .
Though, I did pull up next to a c70 the other day on a push bike and he didn't even look at me. Superficial bastard!
I always treat other bikes much better than I 'treat' cars - however I don't have a problem with people passing me closly whatever bike I'm on - providing it's done safely and I do mean 'safely', not "oh that was scary because I'm on a small bike and scared of going fast so it must be unsafe" . |

I keep changing my lane position all the time in a bid to be seen by other road users. Scooter or tourer, it works for me. I am talking about dual carriageways tbh as I use A41 and A1 a lot.
In London I am over-cautious and arrogant. I also beep every 20 seconds or so. Sometimes with no reason what so ever ____________________ Boris - London |

Since i flew through my CBT i have been nodding to anything on two wheels ... it's a numbers game really, like with chasing the women, the more you nod at or try to nob the more chance of a reply as it were ...
However of the 100 or so women and bikers i've nodded at as a pedestrian, i'm yet to get laid, but have had three successfull hits with the biker nods .. consisting of one postman, a crack head shifter and a pizzaguy ...
Can't wait til next weekend when i pick up my 125 put put, then i can really make eyes with the pedboys and cover my reg plate and try and pick up some grannys ... ____________________ Fuk um !! |
