So, in the next few years or so, what do you want to do with regards with biking?

For me:

- Wait for my restriction period to run out (Year and half) to upgrade current bike.

- Buy a cheap small capacity single, non runner project. Learn loads and get it working again.

- Do a trackday/track school day.

- Persuade the girlfriend to go on the back of my bike.

Interesting one this. My goals:

1. Sort out this Monkey Bike and get it on the road.

2. Make a mini Bobber out of it.

3. Actually pass my full test.

4. Own an RD350LC (always fancied one).

5. Build a bike from the ground up.

6. Not end up in hospital due to me riding like a maniac.

That is all Very Happy

Unlike Itchy, I have rather modest goals.

This year: Get the trumpet fixed up and MOT'd and enjoy plenty of rideouts and trips to Dublin

Next Year: Get a full set of camping gear and tour Germany with a mate of mine

over the next 2 years: Do some trackdays to learn how to handle a bike properly

in the next 5 years: Upgrade to a Sprint ST and tour a different country every year

I veiw this more as a guideline than an actual plan for the future as green laning is starting to appeal more and more. I guess it's just a case of "suck it and see"

Work for myself building / repairing / tuning engines.

I do it now as a hobby and really want to take it further before I get 'too' old! Laughing

We shall see! Thumbs Up

Get the 200 and beta road registered.
Stick supermoto wheel son the 200.
Get the bits of c90 and CCM merged in to a single unit.
Get a long range tank for the Beta.
Make a hybrid electric/ICE bike.
Make a sand/utility ‘big wheel’ style bike.
Put a KTM 200 engine in a 125cc GP chassis and road register it.
Sort out a stunt bike of some kind.

Do some more enduros.
Do some trials.
Practice supermoto, then do a supermoto race.
Same for motocross.
Do more ‘adventure’ touring.
Do minimoto more
Get better at stunts (be nice to the level of circles, but not too bothered beyond that right now.)
Have a ride on a silly-big new Maico.

I want to enter a race of some sort. And I am in fact doing this on Saturday.

I want to learn to wheelie properly

I'd quite like to get my knee down at some point.

If your entering a race then you will probably achieve all of those goals at once Thumbs Up

I want a road legal trials bike, a beta/montesa etc.

I would like to have a zx10r OR a CRF450 SM next summer, either will do.

I'm getting better at wheelies now, shouldn't be much longer.

Pah – easy to wheelie thanks to the light front end and while the pegs are perhaps a bit low, you don’t have a fat tank or anything stopping you getting right off the side Smile.

I seem to have missed the last few lines off mine too as they’re still sitting in notepad:
Do some more (road) racing and get betterer.
Ride at the Manx TT
Do an ‘extreme enduro’

Of course they’re all subject to not happening – ie road racing needs lots of money, riding in an extreme enduro needs both a decent amount of skill and a not too dodgy back – neither of which I’m in much danger of having.

- Travel Europe - visit some circuits on the way.
- Do some Adventure Riding - get a taste of some different cultures in some far fetched country.
- Have a shot at being a Travelling Marshall for the TT/MGP.

My goals are pretty similar to OP, i.e.

-De-restrict my bike in a year and a bit.
-Get a smaller bike and take it to bits and put it back together to get my knowledge up
-Do a trackday

I'd also like to:
-Learn to wheelie
-Be able to get my knee down in normal corners
-Learn to read the road better so I can enter corners faster and safer (without panicking I'm going too fast)
-Do some sort of tour either by myself or with a close friend of various European countries
-Something else which is a 'specific category' of biking, i.e. learn to stunt, ride off-road etc.

Obviously:
-Not die
-Not get any points

I have since realised it would be more sensible to upgrade my bike in a few years but keep this one so I can take it apart while still having a better bike on the road, then keep this as a winter hack!

I really should get round to learning how to do a burnout.
(I'm not interested in learning to wheelie or other fanciness, burnouts are the one I've only ever been interested in)

I see more trail bikes in my future, also.
But not for countryside hoonage, cos I'm too frit of broken bones for that malarkey ... just for ladylike battlement upon the streets of London.
