Officially the Mk2 Teezer.
New engine all together.
I was fed up with the low temperament of the old engine. It had been sat out in Gaz's back garden for a year in the rain before I got it. So even though I cleaned it all out etc. It was still a shitty old engine.
Last month, I bought myself another bottom end. Advertised as, A good, un-bodged 2RK bottom end.
When it arrived, It was exactly that. Very clean, evidence of a low mileage, well looked after engine.
I sent my barrel off for a re-bore. Currently up to 1mm oversize.
When I got it back, I de-studded the barrel, And lapped the head, and top of the barrel down using some 600 grit wet and dry, a glass table, and a bit of WD40.
The result was two perfectly flat faces, and a slight raise of engine compression.
Everything is more or less how it should be now. I'm running a full size, TZR125 radiator, front mounted. So cooling wont be an issue.
Also done away with the oil pump, I'm running it at 30:1 pre-mix.
The YPVS I have removed and sold. I'm running the Powervalve pinned fully open.
I've taken it for a few little rides up my street. It's extremely poke, and it's not even properly set up yet.
Still to be fitted is the bigger inlet manifold. Currently running a 26mm home made jobby. I've got the local blacksmith to make me up a 32mm version which I will have tomorrow.
Once it's running as best as I can get it. I'd like to get it set up properly depending on cost.

When the engine is cold, the pipes give a bit of resistance on the steering. On track, It makes no odds though. You never turn the bars. My lock stops are more or less set to nothing. So the bars turn literally 10 degrees each direction, if that.
Once the engine is warm, The pipes go really soft, and you cant even tell. |

Very nice, I bought a 2rk the other day and was surprised how quick they are tbh. Not as peaky as Mito's and Rs125's but a bag full more of lower down torque which makes them a better ride imho. I bet that motor is awesome fun in that chassis ____________________ R.I.P. Tareree Shiimi, 1985-2008 |
