How constant should my idle be ?

Had to adjust my idle speed on 96 CBR because it seems to be fluctuating, how steady should it be ?

And what should I service to fix it, plugs haven't long been changed.

When were the carbs last balanced?

it should be very steady, if jumpy then your carbs need to be sync

Its done 18k will valve clearence efect it ?

Tickover on the CBR can change by up to 100 rpm. Lots of things can affect it, such as pin holes in the exhaust, but a carb balance and valve check are good places to start. Just remember that the valves need to be done first.

If the bike hasn't been serviced for a bit then it worth changing the air filter and checking any fuel filter that's fitted as well.

Did the problem only start once the plugs were changed or was it already there?
