This time it's not a rounded bolt but a stuck one Doh!

I need to loosen the bolt for the banjo for the brake and clutch lines but the thing won't budge! Any ideas how to loosen it?

Use a claw hammer and obliterate it.

Brake fluid is very very flammable, so no. Don't heat it.

I assume you have tried the standard things:

Shouting at it
Hitting the head of it with something
Questioning its lineage
Squirting half a can of WD-40 at it
Hitting it harder

Otherwise, make sure your using a socket with a snug fit, not a half inch instead of a 13mm. Try and get a socket that grips the flats rather than the corners like this:

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/image/tools/tools_6pt_socket_46mm_TMI9910M46_lg.jpg

Tap the socket wrench handle with a hammer sharply and it will loosen.

attach a hex socket, longest ratchet you can find....then add a piece of old exhaust/scaffold bar.
The scaffold bar was my weapon of choice with a GS i picked up...it has removed every single rusty stuck bolt inc. exhaust header bolts!

we used 2 people really..one holding the scaffold onto the ratchet while the other did a very sharp quick movement to free it.

Hmm cheers for that Mayjay, forgot about that. Laughing

Scaffold bar is an awsom tool!

Theres still freeze and release? WD40 will not be as effective as proper penetrating fluid. (Durex will not help)...

Try putting a socket on it and give it a couple of firm taps, sometimes that'll be enough to free the threads and get it moving.

Well, by firm I mean give a fcuking good whack. If it shocks it enough it should free the threads, as soon as it 'cracks' your laughing.
