So, I pick my new bike up tonight..

Right, after four months of waiting for the year of no claims to be mine, I am now in the process of insuring my CBR600FY. I will pick it up tonight from my Dads, riding my GS down (I'm going to nail it one last time Sad

) and then ride the CBR back.

I CANT FUCKING WAIT!

I have literally been longing to ride this bike so long haha! What is it going to be like compared to the GS?

The insurance will have to be from tomorow because I'm using my mums credit card then paying her back, so I can't really hoon tonight but plan on going out all day tomorow.

EDIT: Also, I'm getting quite high insurance quotes it seems; TPO about £500, TPFT £800 Neutral

I will probably be going TPO and chaining it up everywhere.

I wouldn't sods law you will get caught and bummed for it either insure it today or wait till tommorrow.

Yeah, it's only a five minute ride through some back lanes anyway... If I get caught I will beg my way out of it, explain it's insured as of tomorow etc.

If you plan to restrict it, i advice against riding it with out them in before hand, it'll feel awful in comparison. (talking from experience)

It's a good idea mate, but for the journey not really worth the risk of fraud etc., if I spot a van of any sort I will literally walk the bike backwards until the plate is out of view. I'm going through some back lanes anyway Smile

As for the bike, there lovey, me and Noixous of here had/has one. So easy to get the restriction kit out. With some good tyres can handle quite well and is supprisingly good for filtering, think on adverage I got 130 ish to a tank, hammering it I got to about 110 and being gentle about 145 ish, this is all just after the fuel light comes on.

They also crash well Rolling Eyes

Parts are cheap and plentyful. if you can get an Akra can, very nice Sound and suits the bike. Thumbs Up

I'm not that paranoid to think a cop is watching my every post.

So anyway, I picked it up, and I'm sure I cannot describe the feeling of going from a 40bhp 500 to a 110bhp 600, it is just phenomenal. Power on tap. I know a 1000 is a huge difference again, but to me at this moment in time, it was immense. I was literally laughing like a mad man when I accelerated hard a few times, and the bike rides a dream. I remember thinking, 'now this is what A real bike handles like' - it felt like it was on rails. It is a bike that actually makes me want to go out and hoon, rather than a commuter, and hoon I will do. Brilliant stuff.

I washed it and chucked it in the garage, awaiting my wake up at 7 am to take it for a ride all day Smile

I can't wait.

Can you link pictures from facebook? Because I uploaded two there.

TBH mate it will be about 95bhp or less after transmission and "age" losses - still will be a beast of a bike in comparison to the gs though.

First time I rode mine I couldn't believe that bikes were allowed to be that fast, scared the balls off myself and came back with a grin like a southpark canadian.

If you keep it below 8k then it is a nice mellow ride, above that and it gets much more lively. I have a scorpion can on mine, sounds good Thumbs Up
