The honda CBR 400 is getting sold to a friend in september, i'm trying to decide what to save up for over the winter....
Bearing in mind it's gonna be my second big bike.

I'm split between the R6, CBR 600, GSXR or maybe, just maybe a supermoto.

What would be the funnest option? as that's what i'm looking for.

Cheers

Depends, are you going to be going over a tonne often? What sort of roads do you ride on?

I choose a supermoto style bike because I enjoy back roads, twisty roads and I want to keep my licence Laughing

you will have endless amounts of fun on an sm bike. But really it depends what you want out of the bike.

As I say to most people, look around this forum, there are tonnes of 'what bike next threads', write down the list of bikes you have seen listed, go onto google images, look at all the bikes. Cross off your list the ones you don't like.

Then go out to a few bike shops and look at the ones you do like, and if possible go for a test ride, (if able) if not, at least sit on the bike and get a feel for it - distance from seat to footpeg, how long the reach to handle bar is, that sort of thing...

Then make an informed decision based on what suits YOU.

I do like going over a tonne, saying that i do think supermotos will be a bit more fun, most the main roads round me are shit and i did always find the back lanes fun when i had my 50.

I don't really know many supermotos just because i've never shown much of an interest, what are the good ones to look at? And whats reliable?

check out Aprillia dorsoduro or shiver, 93bhp Vtwin, supermoto style with great handling and brakes. Fast enough to scare you but not to end up in jail.

Depending on budget really and some are higher maintenance than others, for example a KTM LC4 needs oil and filter change every 3k + valve clearances. You need to do a little research really to see what you like and is within your budget, then find out about reliability, servicing costs etc. I have a KTM duke which is not really a proper sumo but has the same lc4 engine and I've not had any problems. Other bikes I can't really speak for as I've no experience.

Here's a few to get you started
KTM LC4 (625,640) (660 no elec start) (duke, you may or may not like it's looks)

new KTM 690

Husqvarna 510 / 610

Aprilia sxv (amazing bike, but you need big bucks it's a race bike so suitable for the road? I don't know) (Manual calls for new pistons at 5k miles)

New husaberg is nice (I don't know out about them)

other thing is a converted mx bike. Honda xr 600 ?

Depends on your budget really
