Hee hee!!

Just got my next bike this morning and I'm so excited!! The only downer is the bloody weather, it's the crap persistent rain that's stalling me from going for my first ride for the moment.

Due to the posibility of having to work further from home and travelling more motorway miles than my SLR would be comfortable on, I've now got a V reg Yamaha 900S Diversion. S'got 35k on the clocks and an 'always run smoothly' history. Just needs a really good clean up... take a peak, what d'ya reckon. Not bad for £900!?

IIRC its the only way to get the rack on or something, I have seen one or two like it before.

Lol, yeah I find them amusing too. They're good bright indicators though! The bike came with side boxes so they are the racks to fit them to. I've just got to find the fittings to fit my top box on it now!

Not exactly awe inspiring bike but that looks like you got a very good deal there especially if you got the side boxes. Keep an eye on the exhausts as they rot and is worth keeping and eBay eye out for a Cheap Stainless System.

Just been out for a ride and it's pretty impressive!

Bear in mind I come from a background of limited fast bikes (i.e my SLR) this thing is just so smooth! I can't get over the turbo sound it makes when accelerating, and I haven't even pushed it over the 5-6k mark properly yet.
I was scared of it a bit to begin with just because it's the biggest bike I've had yet, but it isn't actually that scary. So looking forwards to getting used to this thing to be able to get the most out of it!

2 things to sort out first though, the front brakes are really spongy and I have to grab a load of lever before it starts making any difference. 2ndly I'm wondering if the rear brake disc is warped or something, when I use it it does an off/on/off/on/off/on motion. Strange...

give your front calipers and pads a good clean, check if the pads are serviceable and the discs arent excessivley worn-it is a big heavy bike after all. Then give it a good bleeding.

It does sound like you have a warped rear disc. Assuming the rear wheel bearings arent fubar.
