Hi all,
im looking for some domed washers like the ones at the front of this pic https://www.tastynuts.com/prodimage.php?prodcode=FCA050B&cat=0001000500010005&colours=yes
as the previous owner has replaced the oem ones with those tarty anodised red ones which have now turned a nice shade of pink! ( & im missing a couple)
dont need to be coloured, prefer just plain old stainless steel, as they are for fairings, but i aint paying pro-bolt prices!
my local hardware store is great for normal bolts & stuff but they dont stock these, so can anyone recommend somewhere on-line?
cheers,
GAZ

Google countersunk washers - quite a few places sell them at fairly reasonable prices.

countersunk washers are the opposite of domed washers, arent they?
countersunk washers are indented, the go in, domed ones are raised they come outwards/upwards, if that makes any sense, lol
& before anyone says turn them upside down, i have considered that already.
cheers,

these ones are domed.
as they fill in the indentation on the fairings.
ordinary washers would do, but seeing as i have spent ages spraying it (properly,2k) i dont want to ruin the look of it. (i cant beleive i just said that)

Could you not turn a domed washer around 180 degrees to make it a countersunk washer ?? Wink

Drop the ones you have in caustic soda and you'll get silver ones!

I'm sure there's no such thing as a 'domed washer'. The pic in the first post of this thread shows countersunk washers.

yes, there is such a thing as a domed washer, heres a pic of one,
https://www.itwproline.com.au/images/UserUploadedImages/211/POLY%20TEKS%20DOME%20WASHER%20EPDM.jpg
though that one is plastic, & slightly more curved than the ones i need, it gives you an idea of what im talking about, lol
its machined so that if the washer is sitting flat in front of you, the bottom diameter is bigger than the top diameter, ie. like a dome?
& theres no indent (or at least very little) on the top.
the problem i have/had was the set is mainly made up of M6 nuts & bolts but there is also M5 + M7, bolts, nuts, well nuts, countersunk washers & a couple of domed washers.
i will probably just do them all the same, ie different sizes of countersunk washers, all in silver/stainless steel,
thanks for all the help,
cheers,
GAZ
