I feel bad about this because i know how i’d feel about this happening to me.
I listed tyres and wheels from my Scirocco, i totally forgot about the listing and i received an email telling me they had sold.
£5! Bloody £5, i’m broke, i don’t really have enough money to get to work this month and i needed at least £30 for these which is a steal.
What can i do about this, i want to be honest and say ok there you go, but a fucking fiver... Sad

How much would it have cost to put a reserve on, an extra 20p or something ?

Then your starting price should have been £30.

You should have put a higher starting price or a reserve on them.

If you don't post them you should be banned from ebay - simple.

Your loss suck it up, I sold half a GS for £22 on ebay, Was expecting at least £100, could have got £50 for the exhaust alone, I still sold it.

my dad has recently bid and won a full set of fzr400 fairings for 99p...

The guy told him that they had been damaged by his daughter in the week, so he wouldn't be sending them. Would be surprised if that wasn't a lie..

But nothing we could do about it...

Goes with the territory.

The wife won a large carved wooden ornament for £5, should have been about £60. Surprise, surprise, she gets an email "sorry, I've just noticed it's got a crack, so I don't want to sell you a damaged item".

The wife was flying out that weekend, so gave me the woman's number to sort it out. After dropping the wife off at the airport I called the woman, said I was in the area and would decide whether the crack was a problem or not when I saw it. Reluctantly she said OK, I was on her doorstep 20 minutes later, the crack was non existent so I handed over the £5.

"Um the auction total is £20" she says.

I produce a copy of the auction and point to the winning bid of £5. She was trying to get the £15 P&P out of me too.

I put a barely worn front BT014 tyre (would fit most 600s) 99p no reserve and on its second listing it sold for 99p!!

Expected £20+ but hey ho needed to get rid and the guy who picked it up paid me so how much tread was left and paid me £3, 300% the sold price!!

This.

With eBay you take a chance, it doesn't always pay off.

Sorry dude, but the £30 couldn't have meant that much to you if you forgot that you had put the auction on in the first place. If you wanted 30, then reserve or start off at 30, 'tis the nature of the beast and you should do the honest thing. Or not, no one will ever know so you'll only have your own concious to deal with, and if you are anything like me, then you'll sleep soundly at night Twisted Evil
