Embarassed

Everyone still holding hope for England to pull there arse out and win Tomorrow,

Please don't fill this thread with why you hate football, hooligans and how the players are over paid blah blah blah, I have heard it and don't care. I like the world cup I like how it brings people together and the emotional highs and lows (mostly lows it seems!)

What do you reckon the team should be?

I think start Crouch and Rooney and bring on Defoe for Rooney if he hasn't done anything in the First 30mins, he is an amazing player but has been a complete non entity for the first 2 games,

Definitely DJ in goal he was the only player who seemed to 'want it' in the last game, Gareth Barry and Glen Johnson should start as well as Stevie G and Shaun Wright Phillips, JT should be benched after he spoke out against Capello and maybe brought on later. Realy not sure about the rest of the team

I'm not a big footy fan, but I do keep an eye on the England matches for the world cup....only watch the matches if England get to the semi finals though.

Looks like this time around I shall not be watching any world cup matches. This is disgraceful England MUST do better so I can get my 4 yearly fix of football! Very Happy

Don't know about anyone else, but it seems to me the current team just don't 'gel' they seem to have issues playing together :/ Guess that's why we are sucking this year.

They could even go for Crouch up front with Gerrard and Cole playing off him. Rooney was absolute toilet in the first 2 games and doesn't deserve a start in the next one. It's a bit sad to keep him on the pitch 'just incase' he shows a glint of previous form. If he's not playing well, don't start him, simple.

Lennon, Heskey, Lampard, Barry have all been well below par and some of the passing has been terrible! This current team would struggle to see off a Championship side!

Obviously I hope they win and go through, but at the moment I can't see it happening. Even if they do scrape through, they will get hammered in the knock-out stage if they don't start playing A LOT better.

Thumbs Up

They need a big kick up the arse! John Terry and Wayne Rooney need to keep their overpaid traps shut and Heskey needs to be on the next flight home, he is absolutely useless.

Hopefully we will start performing and crack on towards the last 8 at least.

I'm looking forward to the new Premier League season more tho!!!! Thumbs Up

While it wasn't Terrys place to be choosing the squad, I still think Joe Cole should get a look in.

Agree there! Also why was Gary Cahill never picked to play alongside Terry? Jamie Carragher is past it, far too slow.

I don’t hate football, i hate footballers. Laughing
There’s already a thread for this so two or three is greedy.
I’ve heard it all, ‘it brings us together’ yada yada yada. In the end, they are (or especially our team) a complete let down. I decided I’d join my missus as she wanted to go to her sisters and see the game. I went a long, I was shocked....the only football I see is the odd advert for the England team, or some kind of repetitive league match highlights and from what i gather we’re meant to be quite a team.
What’s going on then really?
I really hope they’re mucking about and in the next game they show the rest of the world all the money and hype is worth it.
Very clever marketing going on.
I feel sorry for the supporters.

I'll be watching it. The chance of seeing the England team fall flat on its face is too good to miss. Mr. Green

He better not play that donkey Heskey again, he's completely useless. Stick Defoe/Crouch on instead.

I'd also like to see Joe Cole play with Gerrard in the center.

Why did they start Heskey in the first place? He's slow, has bad balance, bad co-ordination, and seems to fuck things up. They should have started Crouch to begin with. It's a shame our Welsh wonder Giggs couldn't be added to the England roster to help the team out but no he decided to stick with Wales... the worst football team in Uk.

I do hope England win tomorrow, have enjoyed the world cup so far but England seem to be distracted. They just all look like they don't quite want to be there. Capello needs to find a way to bind them, maybe take them to a strip club and get them hammered together so the can bond.

I usually hate football, being Welsh I don't have much choice of football teams to support. Makes me laugh when mates of mine support Liverpool/Man U when they live in Swansea.. half of them have never been out of Wales.

Rooney is probably our best player (although not going by this performance) I think he has been good enough to deserve 30 minutes to see if he is on form.

When he said about the Englands fans booing him I wish I had been that reporter I would have given him a right ear bashing.

People on a hell of alot less money than you paid a lot of money to go and see you play and you where atrocious no 2 ways about it. For your performance you deserve to be booed.

I don't know, what I do know is he wouldn't have played like that in a United shirt, his heart wasn't in it you could tell by how he wasn't running about and chasing the ball anywhere near as much as he would have when plays for Man Utd.

Just look at the team in that Algeria there where a hand full over players that actually looked like they wanted to win,

Barry, James, Jackson even Heskey seem to me to be the only ones giving anywhere near 100% shame Heskey is shit.

Last Friday was only worth bothering to watch for the mere fact that my Bro had a gathering at his house and much merry making took place after the dismal show put on by the England team.

My company told us at the start if we wanted to leave early to catch the game then we could so long as the hours were made up either side of it, for me this would be most practical by getting in at 6.45am instead of 9 as usual so that I have 15 mins to stroll down to the pub to watch the game.

I think I'll enjoy the extra hour in bed more than the football, so sleep wins the toss.

If I was going to waltz back home to a multi-million pound mansion, sports cars and a life of luxury regardless of whether I won or lost, I wouldn't really bother making much of an effort to score goals either.

Trip over his own feet, pass the ball to the opposition and put our captain out of the World cup?

Yeah Golden Boot nominee for sure

Yeah COMEON ENGLAND!!!!

And are all your heskey haters blind? Hes a great target man, he was threading some lovely balls through to rooney and lennon. I agree, dont start rooney, bring him on after a while to get his hunger levels up.

At the risk of saying it before the game and getting egg on my face...

I think this is what they need the pressure of it being knockout. if they get through we probably play Ghana/Serbia/Aus so you would hope we could at least get through to lose to argentina Smile
