My intention was to have a phone that i would not want to replace in 2 years time, so.......i wanted a decent phone. I was gonna go for an iphone4, but after [CEO] Jobs explaining to users that you have to hold the phone a certain way (please don't touch the black bits on the bezel, it'll cut your signal off) i thought it was best to go for the 3GS, after all, this iphone4 problem is not a software.firmware problem, this was a monumental design flaw which isn't going to be easily fixed. This was a 3 part antennae for BT/Data/Voice, which unless they're going to recall and redesign and replace - then i think my choice was a safe bet.
Orange have now only got the 8gb version in black for what seems to be alot more expense, dearer handset, less minutes, less texts, less data allowance.
On my current orange contract i had to shut off incoming and outgoing photo messaging as it costs you to receive or send!
Three give 120, i was like gobsmacked!

What you should have done is got a phone on a good contract on a service provider that works AND an ipod touch.
Oh no wait, hang on
To be honest considering what some of the fanboys at work have paid for the whyphone I dont think its a bad deal, with the exception of the '3' bit and the '1gb' bit
Although on my last mobile deal I got a free phone, unlimited texts, 1000 minutes all for £20 a month and they gave me £200 cashback...
...which I then spent on the ipod touch

The Orange plan has free net usage. |
Actually it has a fair usage policy of 750mb, i know, because it's whom i was going to go with when my current [orange] contract expired - but they were asking too much man...way too much.

Three network is a MAJOR, and I repeat, a MAJOR problem in my experience.
I've had a contract phone and my son has had an internet dongle with the Three network, and both had extensive network coverage problems.
If it was me, I can honestly say that it wouldn't matter what package deal or eye candy was included, I'd NEVER go with Three again (even if they were paying me!)
Maybe I was REALLY unlucky, but at least you can make your own informed decision |
I'd say that's a fair post - again each to their own if you can get a good signal, then gfi - i however have been on orange since the brick phone days, and when i moved here it just went to pot. (looks for the underline part)....anything is better than not getting a signal on your phone and paying for it, i.e. goodbye orange. All i can do is give it a chance and see what happens
| Pernig wrote: | It's worth what you're willing to pay for it. Not having a go, it just sounded a bit steep to me. |
True - but i have been watching with much anticipation at the markets (well the 16gb markets as the 32 was well out of range)...this is a good deal man....well to me it is, i'm happy
| lllN30lll wrote: | You got shafted.
If the main reason you didn't get the iPhone 4 was because of the signal issue then more fool you.
It doesn't cut off the complete signal, it will reduce it slightly, same as if you wrapped anything around an aerial. |
Slightly in this house equals that to going back in antiquated times and re-developing the phone from scratch with big ass resistors and that smell of burning plasticy electronics.... I couldn't do it..and i'm glad from what i've heard..... anyhooo....only time will tell.
This was meant to be a heads up.... wish i hadn't bothered, lol ____________________ If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough. |
