Shocked

Wow, shocker, can't believe he left Yamaha. So I wonder who is leaving Honda.

I've heard talk of HRC running a 3rd factory bike for Stoner, but with diferent sponsors. Not sure if there is any truth in that though.

If that's true, then fantastic. Ducati + Rossi = Italian win.

It all adds up rather well though, enough so that I'd be fairly surprised if it didn't end up being accurate. It'll be interesting to see what will happen with the big sponsors as a result of all this. Stoner running on a Redbull backed RCV almost seems a given, odds are a few of the Yamaha sponsors will jump ship with Rossi and if Fiat are amongst them, what are the odds of seeing the M1 in Movistar colours next year? Smile

If only the racing itself was this interesting Neutral

It's a nice idea, but until it's coming from somewhere with an ounce of credibility I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Correct response.

So far the deal has been as good as done, followed to total bollocks, followed by done. I wouldn't expect Rossi to stay with Yamaha on their proposed terms. Yamaha have a great bike and a top rider with Lorenzo and don't need to be paying mega money for Rossi.

Rossi & the engineers that go with him have made the Honda what it was and the Yamaha what it is today. I have no doubt that they will improve the Ducati and that Yamaha will fall back slightly as Honda have done in recent years.

Honda have got a reasonable argument for getting rid of Pedrosa as he is expensive and doesn't appear to be able to help develop the bike. Dovi shows potential but seems to be struggling to reach it. A move to a different team may do him good?

My money is still on Lorenzo to be champion this year and next.

am i the only one that kind of see's this as a bad move for him?

going of of the dukes recent track record (no pun) it would be almost a downgrade for rossi,
lonzo is giving him a run for his money on the same bike, switching to ducati might give lonzo the advantage he needs to take top spot.

also it say's that he "doesn't want Lorenzo as a team mate",
i thought their drama had been sorted now?
(hugs after races over the usual hand shakes, dedicating race wins to injured vale)
unless he is just trying to come across as a good sportsmen, their relationship seems improved no?

Yeah but what about the move from the unbeatable Honda to the crappest Yamaha. Rossi and Co. turned that around and I think they'll do it again with Ducati.

I wonder how it will affect sales of Yamaha R1's etc. Yamaha make a big fuss of their production racing machines being born out of MotoGP and from rossi himself.

Maybe the fans will start buying more Ducati's instead. Maybe they'll become cheaper and more reliable Rolling Eyes Laughing

yeah i guess that's true,
but the dukes does come with that "only stoner can ride it" rep
(and even he can't get on with it this year)

saying that Hayden isn't doing bad, so with rossi's magic maybe the duke will show its true colours

id like to see kwack come back to gp too, it seems weird not have all the big jap for in the grid

I'm not being funny, but at his age with that injury is he going to bother racing again?

Yes I know he loves, it, yes I know it's his passion and is in his blood, but after a winter sat on his arse, without being able to train as he once did I'm not sure he'll come back at all.

I'll miss him if he doesn't return, but as he said last year himself, he is old even though he can/could still lay (with his chicken analogy).

The injury isn't a career ending one that will never go away, its just a nasty one right in the middle of his season.

He will go to Ducati as both he and they are italian icons. He will be shit noext year on a crap bike, everyone will write him off, he will go do another F1 test and people will say he's lost his magic and wants to go to F1, but gradually the Ducati will become competitive and people will complain he is too dominant again and that he needs a faster team mate. Lets just hope for our sakes that we get some competitive races in the middle there, and that the privateer ducatis get more competitive so there can be more of a race in future.

Is on BSN as well now with another inside source apparently as well as the MSN reporter.

https://www.bikesportnews.com/news-detail.cfm?newstitle=SPECULATION%20GROWS%20OVER%20ROSSI'S%20MOVE%20TO%20DUCATI&newsid=5921

I've herd talk that Honda may run two factory teams, Pedrosa/Dovi and Stoner/Simoncelli.

Elias back in GP with Tech3 hopefully Cool
Rossi and Hayden on a 1000cc Duke Cool Cool just like the old Honda days.

Crash.net aren't exactly nailing their colours to the mast but they are strongly hinting that a deal has already been done with Ducati, also citing the Lorenzo issue as a factor in Rossi's decision.

I think Hayden being at Ducati is the icing on the cake for Rossi. It shows that they were willing to work with their riders, plus i think he enjoyed having hayden as a team mate as the 2 have very different styles.

I'm unsure about Simoncelli but think he deserves a chance.

Someone needs to get Elias back on a motoGP bike very fucking soon! The guy is damn good and very exciting to watch. I think he alone has had more action in Moto2 this year than the whole of MotoGP put together Laughing
