I’m pretty sure that I can recall some BCF’ers mentioning that they’re ‘Premium Members’ (or something along those lines) of O2 which gives them the opportunity to renew their contracts up to 3 months prior to its’ end date. I’ve been with O2 for in excess of 10 years I guess, always been happy with their service and come renewal time have made it a rule to contact them approximately 6 weeks beforehand to thrash out the usual phone upgrade and new contract payments of which I’ve never been refused.

Apologies if this has been covered before however my question to those of you who are ‘Premium Members’ is how do you know that you are a Premium Member and/or how did you become one?

Or is it just another urban myth?

I remember getting something in the post saying i was a 'Priority' member. When I went to the O2 Arena in March they let us in first which was cool. Apart from that all the stuff that was in the leaflet was pretty much all gimmicks.

Also they let me upgrade 2 months early just this week, but I don't know if this was anything to do with the priority thing.

Thanks for taking the time to the respond Pernig Thumbs Up

I'm unsure if what you've mentioned is what I'm necessarily thinking of as I've done similar to you albeit at a different venue but at an O2 sponsored event and as detailed in my post I've changed phones at similar times to you.

I reckon I've read something on BCF and then my mind has played Chinese Whispers with itself thus culminating in what I perceive as some kinda exclusive O2 deal that I'm not a party to Laughing

I got put in the O2 priority club because i spent over a certain amount each month (was a stupid amount mind you). Never took advantage of it apart from the early upgrade (that was about 12 months into an 18 month contract too!).

I'm not sure if you can just join it, look on their website or give them a buzz and see what they say, you don't ask then you don't get Razz

Thanks Matt Thumbs Up

I've found more information HERE

I'm only on a 24 quid p/m contract (the usual million txts, squillion minutes and unlimited data) at present so I guess I'm pissing in the wind Very Happy

That wording is odd, way you could take it is the lowest amount for 4 months added up as it specifies 'total' spend....

Agreed, it's hardly an advertisement for the Plain English Campaign is it!?

My contract is up in 3 months (as from tomorrow - hence this thread) so I might try to give them a call over the weekend to see if I can get someone to clarify the terms and also to ascertain whether they'll play ball in relation to an upgrade so far away from my contract end date.

Can I just rehash this question, as I think my contract is due to be up, and I need a decent phone upgrade AND a review of my minutes/texts.

Similarly, I've been with O2 for probably 7 or 8 years, spent a fortune with them, have O2 broadband (at two different addresses), seem to have had 3000 unused minutes for YEARS ... AND I have just started running up extraordinary high bills due to a huge recent increase in textage and having accidentally left myself on "roaming" whilst in Europe recently.

Also ... if I have O2 and my fella has O2, and he is in Europe (on Roaming), do I pay extra. I'm fairly certain he does, but is it not that i just get the call for the same price as if he were here in the UK?

THIS might help HK...

Existing O2 Pay Monthly contract customers can join the O2 Priority List if they have selected an O2 Priority List Portfolio tariff* or their lowest total bill spend within the last four bills fits in one of the following entry levels:

* blue – spend up to £35
* silver – spend between £35.01 - £50
* gold – spend between £50.01 - £80
* platinum – spend over £80

Either way, if you also have an O2 Home Broadband connection, this could make a difference. Please see the Terms and Conditions for more information.

...although when you click on the T&C's link it doesn't work Confused
