Google GLASs or TRF, first is the Green-Lane Association, second the Trail Riders Fellowship.
They'll tell you more about themselves than I can on thier webbies, but basically the clubs for riding 'Green-Lanes', Public Roads that have no Tarmac.
Great fun, and ALL about low speed control, and 'reading the ground', thats looking at the track infront of you, weighing up how firm it is, how rutted, and whre it goes, and picking a path through it all.
All translated to riding hard-top, only instead of looking for softer mud or bigger ruts, your looking for diesel or cow-shit, instead of trees and boulders, pot-holes and lamp-posts! You get the idea!
What aren't you sure about the power? whether you have too much, not enough? Easy to control?
Its a dirt Bike! THATS what its designed for..... might not have enough to win a club MotoCross race, but its just right for a spot of Green-Laning, or hacking about on some waste-land or a Pay & Play site, and POSSIBLY enough to get a 'finish' in a Club enduro....
Go put it to work the way it was intended.
Believe me, block-treads on tar-top dont inspire confidence when it gets a bit slippy..... but on the REALLY gloopy stuff, they REALLY inspire, and its a complete HOOT!
and a BRILLIANT way to learn.....
on tar, bikes tend NOT to slide about, and when they do..... it gets rather uncomfortable, beforte getting very quickly a bit painful.
on dirt, you slide a bike about for FUN, and when you cock it up, you normally just end up laughing the mud out your mouth! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

With target fixation...... I'm always looking up at the sky, ooo ther's a buzzard..... !! but I don't go there
Take it slow, ride within yourself. Familiarise yourself with the bike at slower speeds and ride it faster as you become more capable/comfortable.
Don't grip the grips with a death grip, you'll tire your hands and arms. RELAX!! |

Ummmmm update, bike was real nice but just had a cutting out problem
Kept cutting out even though warmed up and putting it into first killed it regulary and then it didn't want to start again.
With adjusted idle speed the problems still occured so I did not buy the bike
Real bummer as its's now summer but I just couldnt risk my life savings on something that might have the dredded cutting out problem... Let alone if it didn't want to start it a dodgy situation!

Do not ride too fast till when you are totally familiar with the performance of your first bike,
Also be extremely careful with steep hoad, you may fall off the bike when you are too fast
