Adding 2 HardDrive's RAID 0 Vista

Basically I have Vista 64bit installed to a single harddrive.

I want to add 2 more drives and stick them in as a RAID 0.

So I'll have my nomral C:\ drive, plus another RAID 0 array e.g E:\

Is this possible, is it easy to do?

if your motherboard supports raid then yes its a piece of piss.

plug em in, goto raid utility (press whatever button it tells you to press on post) put em both in an array (raid-0 stripe/mirror - whatever you want) save it then load up windows.

install the raid drivers you got with your mobo, find the drive and create your partition/format it and voila. new drive.

if your mobo cant handle it then err.. its gets more complicated. although you can use windows to setup a software raid. never used it tho so dont know if its any good.

failing that you could buy a raid card (for whatever connections your hdds have.. im guessing they're both sata) and set it up roughly as if it was the onboard version i mentioned above.

pretty straight forward to do.

only gets complicated when you're trying to install windows on a raid array with no floppy drive although these days usb flash drives work wonders..

I'd be wary about using your motherboard's on-board RAID controller as if your motherboard breaks you need to buy an identical motherboard to get your data back in RAID 0.

So you want to take 3 drives and have one as system and the other 2 as a 2nd drive?

If so use the built in software raid in fista (in disk manager)...
