I canceled my insurance policy with them (quote found on gocompare.com).
I paid £323 for whole year fully comp with breakdown cover and legal cover.. Now over 4 months before the end of the policy I sold my bike and I needed to cancel my policy.
Full 4 months should roughly give me back £105 for unused period.
But here is a thing...

So I'm looking at this and I cannot believe what I'm seeing haha
It looks like
- they owe me £105
- I owe them £15 + £75 + £17.70 + £38 = £145.7

Looking at those T&Cs I would say the only thing you will pay is the £75, POSSIBLY the £15. So I reckon you will get around £30 back. We all know if you cancel mid term you get shafted, in fact if you do anything when it regards insurance you get shafted. Change of address £15 charge ffs, not to mention the possible hike in premium for a more 'at risk' postcode. Wonder if they would notice a change in premium if you moved to a 'less' at risk postcode.

Dont cancell.
Ask for a 'suspension' as you have sold the bike.
They will normally hold the policy open for up to a year for you, then when you have another bike, they re-instate the remaining period on the policy when you 'suspended' the cover.
Takes the reg-no off the insurance data-base in your name, so there is NO problem with the bike being double insured.
Not that there should be anyway. If some-one else has a claim and they aren't a named driver on YOUR policy then it dont cover thier claim, does it? ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

I'll post my insurance company thievery in here too.
When I bought that nail of a KTM, I took out a policy with Express Insurance, paid a deposit of £55 and the rest over said amount of months. As you all know, the bike was a nail and they picked it up the day after and took it back. This was on the Friday that I took out the policy and couldn't cancel it until Monday. So, on Monday, I rang up to cancel. They told me I had to send a letter to them stating I wanted to cancel. I explained the situation to them and they said there should be no problem getting a refund. So, I sent the letter.
Then, on the following Friday, I went and bought the KTM I have now so I took out a policy in the morning. I shopped around and guess who came up cheapest again? So I took out another policy with Express Insurance and the woman on the phone said, "If you take out the policy with us, we will refund the money from the previous one". I thought they had already said they were going to do that but she mentioned the cancellation charges and she would waive them if I took another out, so I did.
This was on the 12th June last month and after phoning up about 15 times and explaining the situation in full, to each person because they're retards who can't put the correct notes on my account, I finally got absolutely nowhere.
Today topped it off, I rang up, got some dumb as fuck sounding brummie woman who couldn't even grasp the basic concept of what was going on and I ended up calling her a thick cunt and giving her abuse. I put the phone down on her in the end because she was literally dafter than a brush, rang customer services and the woman was very helpful and said she would ring me back in a few days.
Now they're asking for a copy of my counter part driving license (never been asked for this before) and they want me to email it over to them. She asked on the phone, do I have any driving convictions? I said, "Yeah, a DR10 from 2004 but that's outside the 5 years isn't it?". She told me that this may be a problem and my premium would more than likely go up.
My last insurance company, who I'm actually still insured with on the ninja, I told them about the DR10 and they said it doesn't matter because it was 6 years ago.
So now I'm waiting for these fucktards to get back to me, tell me that my premium will go up because of this DR10 and probably fob me off about the refund. I haven't even signed any of their paperwork yet, just got it all in a pile here and I don't intend on doing until they've got back to me with what's going on.
I fucking hate insurance companies, they're all cunts. |

How did you pay for the policy?
If by credit card just recall the money and find somewhere else.
Not sure if the bank can recall it if you tell them you have no idea why they've taken money out of your bank. |

Bennets demanded about £20 off me to cancel a policy with similar time left because their small print charges were more than the refunded premium.
First mention of this was a letter laced with threads of legal action if not paid in days. |

tbf, its in the small print, you agree to it, they all do it.
its not just e-bike, virtually every single other insurer will charge for address changes, cancellations etc..
its just the way they work.
would also like to point out that most of it isnt the broker at all, its the insurer.
if you cancel the insurer will charge the broker, and they have their own fees which all get passed onto you. the fee the broker charges is often a lot less than the insurers. so to blame the broker for everything is a little harsh
oh and for the record, just cancelled my e-bike insurance with no charges at all ok so it was a monthly insurance for my other bike but hey, heh ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy
