Bike advice (I Apologise)

Bit lost on what I want.

My criteria;

All day comfort (both solo, and a moderate amount of pillion comfort, too)

Under £2000 ish

Decent enough handling

Pref unfaired

Not boring. Undecided on engine configuration.

I've looked at fazers (early 600's) but I'm just not sure they do it for me. Don't want another bandit. I'd maybe consider a 12 with sorted springs though.

I want something I can commute on, take a pillion on, go to france on, scrape the pegs in the twisties all day and still be able to walk.

Speed 4's have clip on's. - That's a no. Plus I just don't like 'em.

Looked at a hornet earlier, they're a possibility.

SV650? Available faired or unfaired. Other half has one, as does her best mate. Both love em. May not quite have the bhp of a Fazer or Hornet, but plenny character.

For what it's worth, I had an 02 Fazer 600 that cost me 2k with 20k miles on it a couple of years back. Loved it.

Owned an SV650S a few years ago too. I wouldn't say they've got 'character' the engines are a little dull. And as standard the suspension is utter shite!

Logically a 600 fazer probably fits the bill. Just finding it hard to be excited by the prospect.

I love the speed four but I know what you mean not the best for longer journeys with the sportsbike riding position.

Don't get an SV, they are crap. IMHO you can't beat cubes for an everyday bike so I err on the side of the Bandit 12.

Honda cb500s is a cheap well made all rounder or a s/h Hysosung gt650r allow I am unsure if a pillion would like the seat. There are a few good Moto Guzzis out there that would also cover all aspects of riding for a couple of grand with the bonus of shaft drive.
