hey ive just got an aprilia rs50 (2005 model ) and i went out on it for the first time today.
I stalled it a few times as ive just past my cbt. i stalled and the bike wouldnt start again so i had to wheel it home. charged the battry thinking it was that and still didnt start. then i knotised that it wasnt turning over as i tryed to start it and i could only hear a click as i pressed the electric start butten any idea what's up with it and how do i fix it ?

First disconnect the battery and then clean/sand the connections.
Then see where the red wire goes from the battery and clean/sand there.
Was it being used before you got it.?

If it woulnt start after you kept stalling it, could be flooded, take out the spark plug, clean it with a wire brush or put a new one in, try starting the bike again, if not bump start it, first gear, hold in clutch, run along or downhill and release clutch should start. Thumbs Up

clicking will most probably be comming from the starter relay, try using a jump pack to boost the battery if that works then charge your battery or get a new one, or if it still clicks then you know its the relay or a corroded switch Thumbs Up Very Happy

Really sounds like your battery is dead, what type of charger did you use?

so if its not turning over + clicking sound = starter relay buggered...

i can lay money on it... as these are a common fault same as on the later models and gpr50s the starter bendix would kill the flywheel

Fuse has blown, mine had the exact same (not an RS50) Need to find the fuse, and replace. Should be fine then.

Or Battery is dead, mines actually done both thinking about it. Basically identical symptoms.

Check the fuse first though, its a 50p part.
