right im back off out into the garage in a sec.
i took my rear wheel off 2 days ago to get my new tyre to fit.
just picked the wheel up and gone to fit it.(easiest job in the world)
got the wheel on and all in line(adjuster bolts didnt even more)
the caliper bracket it touching the disc. ive sat and looked and removed and tried again and there is nothing i can do!!! there is no room for any spacers and ive put the 1 spacer back on that come off in the 1st place.

what am i missing? i feel a right prat. its like the disc is a few mm thicker than it was before..

bike is a 2008 r1

DONT LAUGH

You make it sound as if the disk location is the only problem. If so it sound like to me you pressed the lever when the wheel was off. Prize the pads back with a bit of soft wood.

the wheel goes in place nice and the disc sits in the caliper.
BUT the caliper mount is touching the disc. ill try and get a picture

on the N/S you feed the spindle/bar through the whhel and it has the slide block on it. then on the O/S you have the wheel/caliper mount/swingarm/spacer/nut

How about one of the spacers is fatter at one end than the other and you have it the wrong way round? or you got the N/S O/S spacers on the wrong side.

Its cos the cush drive has been disturbed, rubber mallet the sprocket till it wont go anymore into the rim, then refit, use a blade screw driver to lever it slightly if its still being a cunt.

just been reading the ownersclub and maybe the dust cover/spacers are on the wrong sides. the one on the sprocket side is bigger so if i was to swap them round the wheel would be moved away from the caliper mount by a few mm.
im guesing the tyre fitter removed them or they fell off maybe?

thanks for your info guys
