Probably too late now, but I would say that is definitely an attempted theft. And as Polar Bear says, it can be a pig of a job.
Someone tried to nick my CG125 a couple of years back, ripped the ignition out, and in the process ended up knackering most of the electrics. The neutral light didn't work, and the indicators only worked intermittently. I needed to fit a new ignition barrel, and due to the theft attempt, it wouldn't fit properly into the old slot.
It's not too difficult if you know what you're doing, just double check all electrical connectors on the bike ( I didn't know what they were all for before, but I do now, so something good has come out of it.) More than likely the one for the neutral light will be disconnected, and maybe a few others as well.
Might just be a bulb though, in which case ignore everything I just said
Glue was the only solution I found for the loose ignition barrel. |

If you ever need help with anything technical / mechanical on your bike, write a post in the WORKSHOP section, that is where you will find the right help...from the clever people that know...you shouldn't get duff advice there. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |
