What is it with Stoner and hanging his leg out? We do that on grasstrack to kick back on line but at 120mph it is pointless?

Rossi 3rd?
Shame Spies naffed up.

There is a theory that hanging the inside leg helps put more weight where it's needed. Another is it's a stress meter or a way to take more space into corners.

$250,000 worth of tickets sold due to Rossi turning up. Rolling Eyes

And how cool is that corkscrew

Rossi is a legend.

Lorenzo is a bit of a dick though, his celebrations are crap, if you're going to do them then at least do something decent.

The chap planting the flag- was that one of the BCF entries into the Benson Mopedathon?

I didn't see a matching cub 90 dressed up in tin foil, but it could just have been out of shot...

Does anyone else get annoyed listening to those two fu*kwit comentators on the BBC!? Evil or Very Mad

Really, neither of them have a clue what they are talking about, everything that comes out of their mouth's is just complete rubbish or totally wrong!!

The more I had to listen to them, the more I felt myself getting annoyed with them!

QUOTE from idiot commentator No.1 - "... Stoner has just put in a fast lap and is now closing on Lorenzo.... Oh, sorry, no, Lorenzo is actually pulling away from Stoner!"

How the f*ck can you get that the wrong way round!?

I so hope that the BBC lose the rights to show MotoGP and it goes back to Eurosport.

Last nights race had no build up what so ever, VERY POOR commentry and then no post race either.

The BBC are doing nothing to promote motorcycle racing. Middle Finger

Agreed, the F1 gets BBC1, it gets an hour before hand build up, an hour afterwards to discuss the overtake, then another hour on the red button. Started half way through the warm up lap last night. Shocking.

Any extra they can get is going to be helpful, as it's generally done while breaking Smile. Doubt it's too significant - though the difference sitting up makes IS, so it's possible it could be that little bit extra to get an extra .01s each lap or whatever.

You're not alone, motoGP just doesn't sound right without Toby&Jules.

I don't bother with the bbc show, it's better to watch the live runs for 125 & moto2 on British Eurosport then wait till the evening when they're allowed to show thier "live" coverage of motoGP race.

They're better commentators, who seem to have more access to, and know much more about the sport, the teams and the riders, and they're more fun to listen to.. plus you get Neil Spaulding as well, the world's most interesting nerd Smile

As far as I can tell, the "Live" bbc race commentary pair are commentating on it from a basement in broadcasting house, Eurosport are on site at the track, and because of that they get better information from the teams and also tend to have guests in the commentary box (Lucio Chechinello at the SachsenRing?)

Rossi still does the leg-waving thing occasionally, it's been quite funny to see how many people have copied him doing it, I fully expect there to be a chapter in his biography about how he only started doing it to see who would copy it Very Happy

The good thing about it being on the BBC is I can watch it on Freeview.

is it just me, or does the whole leg dangle thing, look very, dirt track style, which a lot of the riders have a back round in.

no doubt rossi started it, but the fact so many do it makes me think it must work to a degree,
the rest of the grid seem to do it more then he does now days Shocked

I really thought there was going to be an epic battle between Lorenzo, Stoner and Pedrosa after qualifying as they were all so close. Then Pedrosa fell off, and Stoner made about 3 mistakes, and the race was pretty much over. Its a shame, I remember the awesome Rossi - Stoner battle at Seca a couple of years ago, would have been great if it was like that again!

Also, Troy Bayliss used to do the leg dangle before Rossi ever did it Wink

Not a massively exciting race but it was good viewing at 10 pm on a Sunday night. Not sure it was worth missing the end of Sherlock Holmes, mind. I'm not a big fan of Moto GP but Laguna Seca is one I always watch - two years ago was the first time I watched it, in hospital about two weeks into a two month stretch after coming off. The night shift had just come on and one of the nurses (a bloke) was big into his bikes, so he came and hid in my room and we watched the Stoner-Rossi battle together. Epic viewing, and I now watch it every year.

There was riders before him as well, but Bayliss used to do it a lot before Rossi started doing it.

Google it.

John Hopkins was doing it the year the 500's were in transition with the 990 4-strokes.

Also, I remember watching racers in the 80's on the 500's doing it too.

It's probably beacuse Rossi was the first to do it recently that everyone jumps on his band wagon and gives him credit for it.

Thumbs Up
