Anyone else seen this?

If I were 17 I think I might be sorely tempted.

Shame it's a 4 stroke really, but hopefully they'll be using tech from their off road race bikes to make it more pokey than the Japanese offerings. I think it looks pretty sharp for a 125 too.

Quite old news it seems, but I haven't seen or heard anything about it.

Been on BCF quite a few times - and yes, I'd like to see a heavily restricted EXC engine (maybe a little stronger around the place for reliability) - giving a very interesting bike when derestricted.
If we're lucky, they'll use the same mountings as the EXC, so you can stick the 125/150/200 SX/EXC engines in there - however while KTM are quite good on interchangeability, I doubt it Sad.

Has it, I did a quick search, but turned up nowt.

How mega would be it with a 250/300EXC motor wedged in there. Drooling

Not been announced yet, since it's a prototype/concept. Don't expect to see a road version until next year at the earliest.

I'd still like to stick a 2 stroke dirt bike engine in a 125 GP chassis.

I'm not a huge fan of these naked bikes but that's beautiful.

It does look nice (at the moment). I do wonder how it will look when it is the full road version.

Holy crap that's nice. I don't think there's a single KTM out there I wouldn't like to own. Shame it's not a 2 stroke, but all the same, that looks far nicer than most 600s.

If they do a 250cc version with the current enduro 4T engine then it would be a useful and fun bike for alot of people as a daily machine.

The new in house designed 4stroke engine must have cost KTM silly money to develop when they could have brought in a 125cc engine instead. This would suggest to me that they are planning on using it in a variety of new on and off road bikes, and that maybe they have developed it with making over the 15bhp limit in mind for other applications. Not a major consideration, but if it turns out to be easily boosted to 20bhp or more and or has potential for bigger capacity versions, then it could be very useful and also have a good selling point it people find it to be easily de-restrictable to give more power than the current 15bhp rivals, even if it's only a few bhp more?

KTM have and do make some interesting looking and crazy prototypes, and i remember reading that the 250cc 4stroke MX engine, and the 450cc versions could make production in bikes based on the chassis of the 125 and 250cc GP race machines. That would be awesome, but only KTM can do this if anyone now?

it was called a rc4 i believe.
there were rumours that a single cylinder 450 class would replace the 125's in gp and i think that was ktm experimenting with the idea.
i thik they put the engine in a mito too if i remember correctly

Except that their 250cc 4 stroke has pretty nasty servicing, as it's designed to win races, not be used daily. Generally that sort of engine doesn't take well to prolonged high speed use - the 2 strokes are usually a bit better actually, as they've got a lot less spinny bits needing bearings/bushing and the like.
