Hello, I have just replaced one of the carbs on my RD LC YPVS as it was leaking from the overflow pipe. I have replaced the float and the bike is back running but now seems to be "holding back" on a run until I put the choke back on. It then runs ok for a while and then loses power again - any suggestions please?

Carb sync, or mixture settings probably. might be worth checking it is seated onto the engine and airbox correctly.

Cheers for that - will check the seating. Is a pofessional needed to sync the carbs?

A set of vacuum gauges and a screwdriver usually. Either borrow some off a mate, buy a set or get a garage to do it.

Might also be a bit of crud in one of the main jets. Synching the carbs is pretty easy, assuming you have the tools.

Thanks all. It seemed better today when I took it out. I called at the local bike shop and he has told me how to do it - just need the tools to get to one of the carbs. Looks like I'm on the cadge now - off to the mates!!!!

Float height ok? Correct mainjets? are you running an aftermarket pipe/air filter/pod filters and is it jetted to suit?
