I'm going to be picking a new bike up at the end of the season, as my GSX750 was designed for someone 4'8'' tall. So I want a bike with a higher seat - over 800mm minimum - that would be nice for touring. Not really fussed about engine size
But, there's a problem.
I keep my bike in an outhouse, but it has a narrow door. A really narrow door - 740mm. I can't keep the bike in the yard as the yard is too small to fit even a 125 in, and I can't keep it on the road as it will get nicked or vandalised round here.
So, I need suggestions for a bike that can fit through that door. Something with a half-fairing would be preferable. The original Bandit 600 will fit in, but not the newer ones; an SV650 might work, but are they any good for touring? I'd love a 650 V-Strom, but as far as I can tell, there's no way in hell one of them is fitting through the door. Anyone got a TDM they can run a tape measure over?
Anyone got any bright ideas?
And yes... I have started carrying a tape measure round with me and every time I park near other bikes I've started sneakily measuring them... |

Kawasaki Versys are quite slim. I was looking at one yesterday. I have similar problems where I live. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

G, I find it funny/awesome how you manage to fit your Gix' in pretty much every single which bike discussion, justifiably of course. ____________________ Journalist, student, egotist.

Stop being a wuss
If you twitch your handlebars you could get almost anything in
I used to get my bandit into me shed nice and easy, so therefore i decided to put some renthal bars on it
Now its part of the fun trying to wiggle the bike in and out of the shed |
