Yamaha's post race press release (after today's round) included Rossi saying, "As for my future, you will know something at 6pm today."

Worst kept secret in MotoGP, obviously, but at least it will be official.

Despite the fact this has been on the cards for ages now it's still a bit hard to believe that Rossi-on-a-Ducati is actually going to happen. I hope he wipes the floor with Jorge next year (very big ask I know, but this is Rossi we're talking about).

Really? I mean I don't doubt the guy can win races, but he's so monumentally dull, I don't really understand why any non-American would be a fan. Plus he stood in the way of Haga's WSB championship which was downright rude.

I'm way more interested in seeing how Hayden does, assuming Rossi works his magic on the Duke. Admittedly he doesn't have the raw pace of some of the other guys on the grid, but he's a proper racer and it'd be good to see him at the sharp end again.

Let me guess, you think Spies is dull and think Lorenzo celebrating is just someone copying Rossi.

Spies is an amazing rider, he stormed WSB (Haga was outclassed, again) and now he's having an amazing rookie year in Moto GP, he is a future champion.

Hayden is an underdog and always will be, much like Haga actually.

Why do i seem to spend half my life looking forward to the next season?? 8 races left this year & i can't wait for the 2011 season to start. Other than the fight for 8th place over the last couple of laps the race was pretty dull. lorenzo pissed off, (as usual), pedrosa struggled to keep up, (As usual, but at least he managed to stay on), And once again Stoner faithfully finished behind a Honda. (Is he already on the honda payroll?)
The end of the season should be interesting, especially if lorenzo runs out of engines.
I'd love to know how much impact rossi's move will have on sales of Yams & Ducati's.

I'm tipping Spies to be a regular podium finisher and to pickup several wins i think the guy is very, very good.

If people start buying fucking ducati's now and rossi rep ones i'm gonna just laugh Very Happy

ok i know one of the reasons ducati got him is to sell more bikes but shut up your mums a whore.

Where do you live??

Duke's are pretty much everywhere. I've seen a few of these Bayliss reps, and they didn't make many.

Nottinghamshire, round here it's all R1's and Blades, seen a couple of BMW's but havn't seen 1 bayliss or hayden rep in my area Shocked


i heard the commentators on eurosport mentioning the Italians don't really buy dukes mainly because they are built there.

They only make 400 a year of the Desmosedici RR.
Total output is 40,000 a year.

Yes and the Desmo is very expensive (£40k, off the top of my head). You're not ever likely to see loads of them.

Ducati might be a long way behind Yamaha but, in comparison (and relatively), they're not that far behind Kawasaki in a recent sales chart. I find it odd that people "don't see many of them". I do see them everywhere, but take that in context. I don't mean everyone has got one, but any bike meet, show, race, trackday I've been to has had more than a few kicking about.
