 |
|
Afternoon all
after a lot of thought i have decided I would like to start doing track days. I was thinking of buying a VFR 400.
I need to know what the regulations are and what i have to modify on the bike to be able to enter track day.
I also heard that removing the flywheel gives the bike a bit more HP. Obviously I would have to keep the battery charged.
Any help and advice will be great Cheers ____________________ Yamaha TZR125 x 3 Lifan LF125 14-F x 3 Jinlun 125 x 1 Honda CBR 600 F1 Honda Varadero 125cc I am now starting my Honda VFR400 NC30 Project (Still ongoing 27/02/18) Daelim Roadwin 125R |

A road legal bike will be fine on a track day. |

First off, if you don't have a bike, buy one that's matches your needs.
So, ideally buy one sold for track use - it'll probably be cheaper and have useful mods already done.
Also, I wouldn't worry about going for a few hp more on a track day - it's a trackday, so if you want more power, buy a bike with a bigger engine .
They don't check bikes on trackdays, but you do have to be safe. |

Yes, you do.
A very few accept a race licence, but you have all sorts of issues with that.
Have a look at the FAQ in the racing and trackdays section . |

Yeah a few people have said this to me regarding the VFR, I was looking at some CBR's last night and was very supprised at the prices of them. Very reasonable!
I looked at the FAQ's and its says if you have done your CBT you are ok to go on most track.
Its all very confuseing. lol

a 400 is not the best choice of track day bike. a 600 makes a lot more sense ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |
