CB250 Twofifty oil help

What oil should i use? semi synt? 10/40? i out cb250 oil in ebay and thats what i get but is that 100% correct also where the F does the paper filter go?

Hi

The Autodata book I have here lists it as 1.5L of 10W40 SG spec oil.

Would guess that there is a cover on the underside of the engine which holds the oil filter.

And when you change the filter don't throw the spring and washer away with it!

I use ordinary semi synthetic 10/40 oil from my local motor factors.
My Clymer manual states that the service interval for oil changes is 4000 miles. My 250 is used for a lot of short trips and city commuting so i change it every thousand miles or so. As keith said the correct spec is 1.5 litres of 10W/40 API SG

These bikes don't have a paper filter, just the mesh filter screen in the oil pump housing this is schedualed at every 8000 miles. To get at it you need to remove the right hand engine cover and undo the oil pump housing. If you want more information on how to do it, I can scan the appropriate page out of the manual for you.

like said above it doesnt have a disposable filter, there is a small wire "basket" that needs to be cleaned instead

just stick any old semi synthetic 10w40 motorcycle oil in and it will be fine
