GPZ500s... again....

So i got the bike running again today, and it started getting pretty hot... near enough overheating.

So once it had cooled down and the fan had turned off and the like, i opened up the rad cap, and noticed the coolant was a rusty colour...

This mean that in the past, someone has run straight water through it, and the rad has rusted internally?

If so... a replacement radiator?

The coolant in the reservoir is pink, and it runs pink from the line to the carbs.

What should i do next? everything else is fine.

drain the lot, flush through with a hose until the water turns clear, refill with fresh coolant (50/50 antifreeze i think)

Hi

As above. Take the rad off (with its pipes) and connect up the out hose to a hose pipe (the adjustable sprayer nozzles are tapered so easy to push into a pipe and then jubilee clip in place) and turn the tap on to flush it through.

You can get stuff to add to the coolant to break down build ups in the radiator.

You going to use this for college transport? Not long now so get yer finger out. Oh, i want a dark lid in XL, what you got? or does that bike shop up your way have any in cheap?

Ahh i'll give that a go tomorrow, see what i can do.

Need to get more antifreeze then, not got any to hand.

Rolfe, yeah, hopefully for 2nd term...

I aint got any XL helmets, though eclipse should have some cheap-ish helmets. go have a look - and come pop in and see mah bike Thumbs Up

All the cheap lids will be WHITE Lol. Pm me yer mobi number ill phone when next in the area and laugh at your mechanical skills.

Try holds rad weld gold for the rust in yer rad. i will fix the odd hole and any rust on the inside. Thumbs Up
