As far as I am aware you should be ok, Providing you pass the test and are in possesion of the full uk license it shouldnt matter if its restricted to 33bhp, Its still a full license

You'll probably get bored of it, take the restrictors out anyway, then find you want more power Laughing

Picking a bike is something only you can do, Everyone else can recomend but ultimatly its down to what you want and how much you want to spend.

The likes of the older Gs500 and ER5's are cheap and cheerful but personally I would recomend something along the 600cc+ area.

Have a troll through ebay and see what catches your eye. You can narrow the searches down by selecting things like type of bike (sports, tourer, cruiser) and cc.

Good luck with the test

Yep, we can't tell you what bike to go for, you need to pick a style you want, then pick a few models and start test riding them, and a 600 is probably a better option.

I went from a CG125 onto a 600cc sport bandit.

I think the Sport Tourers are a great option because they look great, and they're good on insurance too, and they help you build the confidence that you need to master the larger motorcycles.

The sport 600s can be a bit scary, and you might find yourself with your arse on the tarmac. Plus, the bandit is great as parts are cheap, and they're easy to maintain. Its nice and easy to learn how to do some of the more tricky stuff because you havent got all the fairing in the way.

I picked up mine for £1700 with 20K miles on the clock. 2 owners, one of them being a lady, and the guy that i bought it off only had it for a year, where he'd done 2K miles. Quite a bargain i felt. And yeah, its done me wonders, i've done 10K on it since then in a year, and she's still singing sweet.

If you want a good bike that is going to be confidence inspiring yet aswesomely fun with all the extra speed and umph, then go for a naked or sport tourer 600. Bandits are great, So are the hornets too.
