Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I reciprocate the need for a fight! Wink

Anything can be made to fit anything, it's just a case of how much time, money, fibreglass and filler you have.

First you need to see how far out the new rear end is (bearing in mind the ZXR uses a separate subframe whereas the ER-5 is part of the main frame IIRC) which will almost certainly require the plastics to be cut to fit (remove some material to clear the suspension units, front tips moved in as the ER-5 is amlost certainly thinner etc etc) You need to figure out how to mount the seats aswell as the ER has a one piece double unit, the ZXR has 2 single units.

Then you need to make some brackets for the mounting points as these are unlikely to be in the same place. After that it's the rear light, the wiring plug on the light unit is probably different to the one on the bike's loom. As long as there's the same amount of wires and you know what each one does (i.e 4 wires on each, you need to know what wire on the loom powers which light bulb)

It won't be easy, look at the ballache you get when trying to put a later Hornet tail on an early bike, and thats on the same model of bike!

Sounds like it'd be less work cutting the er5s subframe off and mounting the zx6r's instead.

That assumes that the distance between the left mounts and the right are the same as the ER5's. It also assumes the distance between the top and bottom mount on each side are the same, and that the tail will be at the right angle when fitted. None of these will be the case. It can of course be fitted but will require accurate bending, cutting and welding to a quality to which you would trust your life, as thats exactly what you'd be doing.

Or, you could sell the ER5 and buy a ZX6R?
