I reciprocate the need for a fight!
Anything can be made to fit anything, it's just a case of how much time, money, fibreglass and filler you have.
First you need to see how far out the new rear end is (bearing in mind the ZXR uses a separate subframe whereas the ER-5 is part of the main frame IIRC) which will almost certainly require the plastics to be cut to fit (remove some material to clear the suspension units, front tips moved in as the ER-5 is amlost certainly thinner etc etc) You need to figure out how to mount the seats aswell as the ER has a one piece double unit, the ZXR has 2 single units.
Then you need to make some brackets for the mounting points as these are unlikely to be in the same place. After that it's the rear light, the wiring plug on the light unit is probably different to the one on the bike's loom. As long as there's the same amount of wires and you know what each one does (i.e 4 wires on each, you need to know what wire on the loom powers which light bulb)
It won't be easy, look at the ballache you get when trying to put a later Hornet tail on an early bike, and thats on the same model of bike! ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

Or, you could sell the ER5 and buy a ZX6R? ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |
