Did my Mod1 this morning, got a cancellation 3 days prior.
Everything was going well + perfect, did all the low speed stuff fine. Then came the swerve. I focused on getting the required speed, and 'panicked' and locked the rear wheel pretty badly braking. I normally hardly even use the rear brake, my brain just kind of seized. Need to do some practice I think.

Pretty epic skid though, the back of the bike was all over the place. Did manage to release slowly and not throw myself. After that I continued on fine and buggered up the emergency stop from hardly braking Razz

56kph swerve, 55kph controlled stop.

Kind of annoyed that my brain locked up and decided to slam my foot down, but otherwise it was good practice. Booked another one next week and I'm gonna practice some emergency stops down the local industrial estate.

Well as said many times. You know how to fail it now and what not to do. So next time get it right.

At least you managed to get the speed right.

Good luck for next time Thumbs Up

Did exact same thing, rather annoying that we both did the emergency stop correctly but skidded on the hazard avoidance Laughing Laughing

If you dont pull the clutch in you shouldn't be able to easily lock up the back wheel, like you did, so just make sure you don't wack the clutch in until just before you come to a complete stop.

Cheers Harry

I just did a mock MOD1 and would have been "unsuccessful" had it been for real!

I knocked over a cone (for the first time ever) on the slalom, and only reached 49kph before the swerve. Glad I had a practice run...like someone else said, now you know the layout & what not to do, you'll probably be fine next time.

Good luck Smile
