somtimes its that clonky it feels like i have not used the clutch and it just being forced into gear. the bike has warranty but i just like to know if this is normal?

I've found with the bikes I've had that have done this that chain tension is usually a factor. If the chain tension is bang on or slightly loose it helps. If the chain is a little tight, it can make the problem worse.

Check your chain tension, and if its bang on then "They all do that, sir".

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Fazer boxes aren't the best. I've however found short shifting 1st to 2nd helps, I find mine is a bit notchy 2nd to 3rd though. Meh! You'll never break it.

Balancing my carbs and sorting my exhaust leak helped the low rev pickup, which in turn helped my gearbox.

Good bikes though!

Mine was similar. It used to slip out of 2nd occasionally, under heavy acceleration too. Don't know where it went because it didn't end up in neutral. Just another neutral somewhere. Still shifted up into 3rd.

This is normal for straight cut gears. Almost every bike does it.

I have found in the bikes I have ridden that Yamahas are worse than most for this though.

My honda is just as bad as the yams. makes no difference if it clunks or not. BMW's dont tend to so it with cross cut gears.

when the light comes on find a petrol station... quickly.

And when your friend has been told before you set off he "Must take the short way round and i need fuel!" he won't listen to just hit a station when u can pronto.
